Awesome Strongback elite chair!
I love the Strongback elite! I ordered both, the elite and the smaller guru; the carry bag that arrived with the guru was noticeably heavier duty, which didn’t make sense with the elite being a significantly larger and heavier chair.Assuming it was a mixup, I switched the carry bags and returned the smaller guru and lighter-weight carry bag after deciding that the larger elite model seemed more comfortable for me.I am more than happy with the Strongback elite, and will say that it is the most comfortable camp-type chair I’ve ever sat in!

Excellent chair for anyone!
Excellent product! We own and travel with 2 of them but I have purchased 3 others to leave at our children’s homes that are a flight away. So glad I found these chairs a few years ago!

Broke REPLACED
**Edit** Strongback contacted me about this issue and sent me a brand new replacement at no extra charge. I can still use the old one if I don’t collapse it, and the chair is quite comfortable. I have a very bad back, and with the addition of a pillow in the seat, I can sit comfortably for hours. I would recommend putting a thin film of lubrication on the moving parts before taking it camping to make sure it works easily. Happy customer now.I took my new Strongback chair on a 3 week rafting trip down the Grand Canyon. It is a comfortable chair, but it was almost impossible to fold up to move from camp to camp. I had used it on a 3 day trip on the Tuolumne and it worked ok. There were no instructions on how to refold it, and it was hard but we could do it. On the Grand Canyon it was really difficult to impossible to fold. Maybe it was the sand, which is very fine. I couldn’t oil the sliding part, as more sand would have stuck to the legs and made it worse. While trying to close up the chair on the last week of my Grand Canyon trip, the leg broke at the joint. Strongback chairs have a 3 year warranty, but only if they were purchased directly from Strongback. The return window from Amazon is 30 days. Now I have a broken chair that cost $99 that I can’t use. I’m really upset and disappointed.

Best back support in a camp chair, bar none!
Best back support in a camp chair, bar none! I broke my back a few years ago, and purchased one of these chairs for myself when I read other reviews about them. My wife use(d) a regular common camp chair, as she felt she didn't need one. BUT, she used mine on a recent outing and decided she'd like her own, the chair is so comfortable. These chairs are a bit bulkier and somewhat heavier (and costlier) than common camp chairs, but, honestly, the back support could not be achieved otherwise. I feel they are well worth the price paid, and slight additional inconvenience in space occupied. Especially if you have had back trouble, you will be absolutely tickled with this chair!(They appear to be much sturdier in design and materials as well, and should last longer than standard camp chairs, though I can't verify this yet.)

Strongback is a quality company
After having my chair for two years I found the rivet holding the front legs together was lost and the seat fabric had lost it's support such my thighs were resting on the metal forming the legs. I was quit upset. I contacted Amazon to start a warranty claim. They told me to contact Strongback. Strongback provides a three year warranty for their chairs. However, per their site, the warranty is only supported on chairs sold directly from their site. I contacted Strongback and much to my pleasure, Strongback would support the warranty and sent me a new chair. The chair arrived today. That's quality! I'm going to purchase another chair directly from Strongback for my wife.

Previous models were wonderful. New models are a dud.
Like: Green color is bitchin. Black anodized legs etc. are really nice. The leg feet pads are way better than my older modelDisliked: The photos tell it all. My old black faded one still after five years has a nice taught, supportive seat sling. That is one of the greatest things about this chair design! I am 6' 2'' 190 pounds. The new green one as you can see has fishnet for the seat. With one hand I can depress it five inches. Super saggy and would only sag more with a little use. When I sit in it my butt sinks a lot more than than five inches. My knees are in the air. The front edge of the seat cuts into the back of my legs very uncomfortably. It is awful.I did a test just like in their website video. The new chair was a total loser. My old chair, as faded and wobbly as it is ,is way better designed. Its a shame. I hope they fix it sometime as I would by another one in a heartbeat. I advise avoiding them for now.

Check Product Before Shipping
I bought two of these chairs. Not comfortable at all for me. Was disappointed. My feet didn’t touch the ground and the lumbar support hit in the wrong place. While I understand that all chairs don’t fit all, I was mostly irritated due to the fact that cardboard packaging the chair was stored in was crushed at one end, the carrying bag was torn at the bottom and the chair was dirty. I am not sure if this was caused by the bag being stored in the warehouse, or someone had used the item and returned it and it was then sent to me. The chair, however, is very sturdy. So while this product didn’t work for me, it may for you.

**UPDATE** Cannot Recommend to Recommend
**UPDATED**After posting my review I was contacted by Strongback and received excellent customer service and they replaced both chairs at their expense. As of this update I have not had any problems with the chairs. Kudos to Strongback for standing behind their product. While the chair is comfortable and supportive, I have experienced the same defects that others on here have reported on not only one but two chairs. As the pictures show, the weld where the arm rest connects snapped in the same place. When you spend a couple hundred dollars on chairs I think it’s fair to expect better workmanship.
