Homedics SBM-200H Therapist Select Shiatsu Massaging Cushion with Heat

I bought this about a month ago and have enjoyed it. I wanted a home massage without paying $50 each time. I did some research with the brands and the different levels of seats you could buy. Of course this is the lower level of the HoMedics massager seats because there are only 2 rolling balls but it does the trick. It can be a little rough in the middle and more gentle on the top of your neck and bottom of your lower back. I feel great when I get up and feel like I've had a real massage.The directions are easy. The remote is user-friendly. I like that it automatically shuts off after 15 minutes because that is the recommended time. I did do it 2x one night for 30 minutes total and it was a bit much so 15 minutes is just right. The roughness is similar to a real massage and it really does work out the tension. It feels like a real massage. I use it right against my couch so that I'm sitting upright in the chair. Highly recommend for the home massage.

In my line of work, I have alot of heavy lifting. Recently, I have had bad back pains. The product did not work for me, in the sense of not meeting my needs. I paid 79.99 plus shipping fee. I will be returning this product back to the original seller. I don't want to be rude and not mention any GOOD qaulities about the product. The back massager is truly an overall good product. The heat function is unique to me and feels okay. I have nothing against the makers of this product, it's just that I have very bad back pains. The product simply did not meet my expectations. I will be returning this product as soon as possible. I only hope, that the original seller will not make me pay for shipping.If I were to recommend this product to you. I'd say depending upon you physical needs, this product is a good investment. But if you have very bad back pains (like myself), I would recommend you to do your research. I have frequent back pain due to my daily grind, and I've never really had the time or money to see a massage therapist. I tried a demo of the Shiatsu massage cushion when it first came out several years ago and wanted one the moment I tried it. It took this long to have enough disposable income to afford it, and the great price here really helped. So I finally ordered one a couple of days ago and got it today. I just tried it and it is pure bliss. Inside of 4 passes, my back was relaxing and now I feel great. I'm 5'11" and it reaches right up to my shoulders, which is great, and with the heat option, I can feel warmth and relaxation flood through my back. Great product, great relief. Highly recommended.

Terrible, kills my back. Feels ok when I'm using it, but it does not fit the contours of the human back at all, just does circles up and down in a straight line. This means painful pressure onto your shoulder blades and not enough pressure into your lumbar area or anything over your shoulder blades. If there was a heat only option I could justify it as an expensive heating pad, but as it is the money is completely wasted.

I gave this as a gift to my wife for a Christmas after her Mom received one for Christmas as well. So, we both were able to sample it and I noticed she liked so I got her on as well. She uses it daily as she has a "tight" back regularly. I also use it and do enjoy it. The one thing I dislke is that it does not go low enough on ones back and that is where I really feel like I want it. Anyway, it works good and am happy with the purchase at $99.

I bought the Homedics SBM-200H to place in my office chair at work to help make the chair more comfortable on very long workdays, and to periodically give my back a nice massage as a bonus. Wrong. The back of the pad is very uncomfortable. The hard edges that wrap around the sides, end where the completely un-padded mesh in the central massaging area begins, making two very sharp vertical strips that you lean back on. As I said, the entire central area of the seat cushion back is a thin mesh with absolutely no padding of any kind. So it is quite useless as a chair pad.As for a massaging cushion, the thin mesh with no padding, also makes the massage action much too rough and very uncomfortable. I could see this actually doing more harm than good, especially to someone like myself who suffers from fibromyalgia and associated chronic back pain. I tried it with a 4 thickness folded towel over it, as suggested in the booklet that comes with it; and this does help somewhat, but what a ridiculous, half-assed suggestion that they even include to cover a poorly designed product.As far as I'm concerned, this product is cheap and pretty much a waste of money.

I have owned expensive massage chairs with the extravagant functions and settings. I prefer this one. I enjoy the rolling function of the massager and the heat as well. My primary problem area tends to be in between the shoulder blades on the upper back- I get a lot of "knots" there. This massager is perfect for that area. If you don't like a deep massage with too much pressure you can put this cushion in a chair with an upright back, but if you prefer more pressure you can put it in a recliner and recline to get the desired pressure. I prefer a deeper pressure and it does the job very well. A family member of mine also has had this chair for 3 years and it has held up perfectly!

This has been a great cushion. We have had it about 2 years now and used it a lot. It has held up good - still looks and works like new. It gives good heat and being able to do just the lower back or upper back or both - is great. It doesn't feel like a person giving a message, but what machine does? For a man made massage it is one of the better ones. I have actually feel asleep a few times while using it. I had my sciatic never flair up and this was a wonderful help in recovering. I would buy it again. It is a great product especially for the price.
