Suzuki DR 650 Dash Board Aux Panel RAM mount ready w Marine 12V outlets

Considering everything you get (sockets, switches, wiring) and compared to the general cost of DR accessories/farkles, there is a lot of value in this product. I considered making my own dashboard, but time, energy, and cost made this a no-brainer. You can change out the sockets and switches as you choose (I put in a voltmeter and 5v USB plug). The new location of the dash indicator is more visible (for me). My auxiliary fog lights are setup with the second switch. I noticed as I researched this product that it did not come with a ram mount ball, so I bought one and added it for $5. Again, I think the key takeaway is price-to-value. For $54 I was happy with the product and am fine to spend extra to tweak it to my satisfaction.

I love the setup. What I hate is the fact that both the ones I ordered arrived damaged. The way it was packaged from the factory allowed all of the components to literally scratch through the finish down to bare metal. One wasn't so bad but the second was terrible. If I wanted to have to reprint it I would have made my own from the beginning. Solid design, poor packaging from the factory and not a very durable finish on the metal.

Received my panel with NO electrical connects. Photo is also misleading showing the RAM ball mounted, it DOES NOT include the RAM ball. I didn't think a piece of stamped metal with a crooked AE logo was worth $54, so I returned it and used the "Ram Mount Rail Base with Stainless Steel U-Bolt" $13.06 and a "EDO Tech Ultra Compact Direct USB Hardwire" $12.85; to install my Garmin GPS. Cost less and cleaner install.

Overall for the actual metal bracket its great. The production quality is lacking seriously. The harness supplied is very cheap with Harbor Freight style shrink wrap used and spade connectors are cheap as well. Would be nice to at least use marine grade quality since it is a motorcycle.The other gripe I have is the AE logo plate that is on the piece is glued on, mine is crooked and now not wanting to damage the plate I have to stare at it while stopped at a light. At least give the option of removal without ripping the coating off the panel.

Installation on a 1997 DR 650Purchased online - shipped and received quite timely!!!However when I went to install it was a little more labor intensive than some of the reviews led you to believe. To install it was required to remove the tank, the seat, sidepanels, handle barch perches and the front cowling around the headlight. It would have been helpful if AEmotorsports had a video on youtube or something you could watch as I unknowingly destroyed the old rubber mount because the instructions were a little to be desired. It appeared from previous reviews this would be an hour to 2 hour project, however because of the limited instructions (which I understand to some extent being it covers a variety of models) it ended up taking about 3-3 1/2. QUALITY OF PRODUCT IS EXCELLENT!!! AWESOME - well worth the money I highly recommend it but installation left a little to be desired. I absolutely love the finished product (other than when installing the indicator lights I screwed up the install of the lights (I will fix this when the new renthal bars show up).Just make sure to allow yourself time for the install and do not rush, like I did, because you did not allow enough time.Love the new location of the indicator lights, MUCH EASIER TO SEE... I would purchase AE Motorsports products again simply based upon the quality of this one.

Good quality form, fit, and function.

Brilliant value for money. Installation is straightforward. The design of the panel maximizes the use of available space on the DR650 dash, and adds much needed functionality. When installed correctly, no portion of the dash panel or the wiring harness fouls any OEM wiring or controls. The buyer may choose to replace one or both of the provided 12 volt receptacles with compatible Powerlet and/or USB fitments as desired...as I've done. The connections are the same; additional modifications are not required.The provided instruction sheet is observably modest, however. The installer must figure out a few things for himself; e.g., removal and re-positioning of the dash light indicator panel and the associated wiring. All of the required work is reasonably intuitive. The installation presented no particular challenges when I fitted the panel and wiring harness on my DR650.

Fits great, good construction quality on the wiring harness, standardized parts so you can swap outlets and switches for others. I've swapped one of the switches to a 3 position and can turn my aux lights on, off, or tie them to the high beam. I swapped one of the outlets for a dual USB version. They also sell parts for the KLR650. Great stuff. If you've got a DR, there is NO better option. -okdualsport
