Packing/packaging VERY IMPORTANT
When I ordered this before, it was sent (twice including on a replacement mailing) in that flimsy gray plastic bag that is "resealable for easy returns". Unfortunately, because that mailing packet was not of the padded bubble type, nor there was any bubble wrap around the flapper in its hard plastic wrapper, the flapper itself was crushed, along with the plastic wrapper. I returned it for a replacement, crossing my fingers that they'd put bubble wrap either around the item, or mail it in a bubble wrap padded mailer. No such luck. Flapper was crushed again, and Amazon gave me my money back [I guess you can only try get a replacement once?] This time, maybe it was due to the "luck of the person doing the packing" but the flapper was sent in a "M8 paper padded mailer" [in case Amazon is taking notes - which I think, to their credit, they are]. So the flapper in its hard plastic moulded wrapper were both fine and not crushed. Perfect Amazon. Good, common-sense wrapping by whomever sent it. Third time was the charm. Oh, the flapper itself is great for when your toilet starts leaking - the "mysterious" re-filling of the tank starts happening [which is unpredictable, but this flapper usually lasts 3-5 years, till it gets deformed by constant water immersion and pressure]. 15 seconds to change, and you don't even have to turn the water off.

My flapper rotted, I think maybe to 2,000 flushes. Have an old toilet 1982, when I learned it was that old I asked my wife if
I could just buy a brand new toilet. She said all you need is a flapper. :( So bought a Universal One on Amazon it was flat and wider at the base but the water constantly leaked through. I couldn't have that and don't trust anything that says "Universal" even a remote control. IMO! You don't want to be fishing around in the back of your toilet more than you have too.Anyways, the Flapper. Yes, I read the Amazon reviews and there are so many cool flappers/balls that I never even knew but not for my toilet, they're for newer toilets like the lucky people own. I had to return the universal one for a refund and got free shipping back and price/tax 100% refunded. The model number and date it was produced was on the back of the tank and Amazonians here steered me to this one. It works great. **HOWEVER** My handle seemed sloppy after pushing it down to flush. My handle had 3-holes in it so went to the end one to take the most slack out and it was still fairly sloppy. So I folded the chain links up and reattached the chain through the clip for a tighter chain. It seems to work good now and I would of gave it 5-stars if it was ready, set, go.Good Luck, I give it one-thumbs up.ps; I wonder if 10-years ago I would of envisioned myself reviewing toilet flappers? :)

It flushed just right as far as how long it stayed up but it did not seal completely.

Great fit for over toilet
I have purchased 4 flappers which just didn't work well. I ended up having to go back to the old one each time. Until I notice this works for older toilets. 🥰 it took me over 10 years but I finally got it right. It save me from paying for a new toilet and $300 installation.

Usually works but not always!
Purchased the 'name brand' because I have an older model 'Kohler' toilet (mid 1980's incredible that's 'old'. Anyway the other brand doesn't fit tightly & there was a constant trickle of water running into the bowl. Usually the name brand has worked to fit snugly & without a trickle although it has not been 100% of the time. I have four Kohler toilets & two have eliminated the continual stream of water & two have not! I can't figure out why! (I clean the parts when I install the new part) So, sometimes this part has been perfect & other times not so much! (the non-brand name really never stopped the leak of water so my odds have increased greatly!)
