So far so great!
First I'll start off by saying the shipping was spot. I ordered two day shipping because I am a heavy user of my smartphone because it's about 1/3 of how I run my business, so time lost without safely having full access to my iPhone, is money lost. And in some cases, one misstep with the smartphone in my line of work, can mean a misstep of a few thousand dollars. So, on to the meat of this review. I have only been using this mount for two full days, but that's not a short time for me given the context. Due to being in my car during work hours quite often and to a lofty commute, my time with the product is probably as maximized as one could get from just 48 hours worth of service so I feel comfortable writing a review so soon. If need be, I will add more later.I knew full well when the reviews said that this mount holds a significant amount of suction to most any flat surface, that they weren't lying. I am a very thorough and methodical man and I try and do my research as much as I can because to me, this saves a lot of time in the long run that I don't have, to order and reorder product after product like playing the Amazon lottery. So naturally, I used your most common resources like blanket tech reviews on the web and YouTube reviews. Well, it did not come as a shock to me when I came across dozens and dozens of reviews for this product. Sometimes that happens because a product is just that miserable, but mostly it happens when such high praise is given to one specific product out of a large field of fixes. Time and time again Montar was at the forefront of every blanket tech review of like purposed products and the seemingly endless praise was something I hadn't encountered to this degree that I've ever researched on an online purchase for before. So, when I logged into my Amazon account, even though I knew it was going to have stellar ratings, I had no idea that I was about to see the best rating ratio I've ever seen on Amazon. I read through all of those reviews and my mind was made up in a hurry. With a few clicks of the mouse my product was soon to hit the packaging line and be in the mail. When it arrived, which again was on time and impeccably packaged, I unboxed it and immediately started testing out my new toy for myself like a kid on Christmas morning. I'll admit it, I'm a tech gadget nerd. After all, I live in Austin and technology is how my bacon is brought home. So I began to stick it on anything remotely flat and even without the suction button activated, this thing was like an octopus on steroids. So after trying out bamboo flooring, oak end tables, marble counter tops and a tempered glass office desk, I decided to put it though a more challenging test. My walls are drywall of course, but have a very pronounced texture to the acoustics. I will admit that there wasn't nearly the suction as in the other materials that I had just stuck on without pushing down on the suction tab. But once I did press the suction button down, solid! Very solid hold. So as far as the suction and build quality goes, hands down a 10 out of 10.So then it was time to take it on the road. So first off I wanted to place it on my dash, so I did and there was absolutely no suction issues even though my dash is a bit textured. But since I am a tall man, 6'4, my seat get pushed all the way back and then on top of that, I have to recline the seat quite a bit so my legs and arms do not feel crunched as I drive a mid sized German sports sedan. So even though the phone and mount were positioned perfectly and there was no problems at all with both the suction of the mount or the grip it had on my phone, there was just one annoying problem. Because I am as far back from the dash as possible within the setting of my car, I was having to lean up a bit every time I needed to touch my phone. I said to myself "this product is so sensational in every way, I am not going to let this very minor hiccup rain on my parade. So, I pulled the mount off the dash, and while it didn't not hurt the dash in any way, it was like prying a barnacle off of the bottom a fisherman's boat that had never been cleaned. I then repositioned the mount to a far better and more accessible place which was right under my rear view mirror and slightly off centered to the drivers seat for obvious reasons. Now, if any of you know how Mercedes has been building their luxury sedans for the last 5 years knows, the overall profile of the low back and front windshields makes the most ideal place or put this mount. By design of the car, it is not only much easier to access without having to move any part of your body other than your arms, it also provides the best access to your field of view in unison, both straight forward and when you're looking to your review mirror.Ok, so I'm almost through here but I thought I'd mention my one concern. Since I live the brutal Texas Summer sun, I have of course tinted all of my windows with the top of the line, cutting edge, ceramic tint to protect my car from sun cracks and warping. Now even though I have 5% visibility on all of my windows except the front windshield, I also have a very new and state of the art clear coat tinting on my windshield for 360 degrees of protection. I am not trying to be boastful about my income, but needless to say, this new state of the art clear coat technology for windshields is not cheap. My only concern at this point, is when it's time to remove the octopi strength suction mount, will it pull up or bunch up this film in anyway. I would like to think not, and I hope not, because A. I do not want to shell out another few hundred for more film to be installed and B. I don't want my mount anywhere else but here. It is absolutely perfect in this location and the dash,, while completely doable, it's still not the perfect place for the perfect tech gadget EVER!So for now? Absolutely nothing to complain about and I'm pretty picky and OCD about being picky. So far, best $40 I've ever spent in my life of technology ( and only $40 because of my rush order shipping ). When I find out whether the solar clear film will hold up to the suction test, I will update because I know there have to be plenty of you guys out there with the same tint, and since it's part of the tinting wave of the future, I figure it will be helpful advice going forward... Because in my mind? This product will be around for a long, long. There are simply few things better than doing the research and then being blown away when it pays off and you end up with an even more superior product than you could have ever dreamed about. I know this was a very long review, and this isn't my norm, buts it's just a case of how much I love this mount.

Lasted 6 months.
I've had this for 6 months, it just broke today. I have a Galaxy S4 in a quad lock case. The case is barely bigger than the phone. The mount worked great most the time. The mount did come off the suction pads several times when it was new, but after a few weeks it never budged. I had my phone mounted panaramic style the entire time. It never dropped the phone and I never felt that it would. Today I was putting my phone in and the spring in one of the jaws broke. I don't know if the piece the spring holds on to broke or the spring itself broke. I used this daily and have about an hour commute for work. I really liked this while it lasted, but I don't know if I'll buy another one.

great product. no shake when filming, looks great, attaches anywhere in seconds.
i often drive quickly on rough roads, and needed a phone mount that wouldn't shake all around when i hit a bump. this thing is great - i just shove my phone into it with one hand, and it stays perfectly connected to my dashboard. I have it just to the right of my steering wheel so that i can follow directions, read messages, and choose songs without taking my eyes off the road. one-hand loading and unloading is great, and it's easy to mount without leaving a big sticky smudge or something.I got this along with a Kinivo BTC450 Hands-Free Auto-Pairing Bluetooth Connector to pick and play music through my aux input, and now I'm much safer because I never have to look away from the road for my phone while I'm driving - it's right where I want it.

It hurts my soul that it takes $35.00 to find a phone mount that doesn't infuriate.... Works great though.
UPDATE - I've continued to be so happy with mine I bought one for my father when he asked for a recommendation. He has been very happy with his as well. I've had mine for two years now and it is still sticking great and holding a phone. I was worried that the iphone 6 would be a pain to get in or stress my well worn one. It hasn't it's been great. Their claim is true if it stops sticking just rinse the suction cup and let it air dry. I've only had to do it once. Best phone mount ever.UPDATE - I am three months in. This thing is fantastic. Has never budged on windshield, has never dropped device, and has not disappointed. If you are looking for a cell phone mount stop your shopping and just buy this. I will also add that I am incredibly picky/difficult to please and this has exceeded my expectations. I can not speak for it's ability to be mounted to a dash as I stick mine to the windshield. The fact that I paid $35.00 for a piece of plastic to hold my cell phone to my wind shield hurts my soul. What hurts my soul even more is that the great state of California can write me a ticket for touching my phone while I drive. That being said I've run through 4 POS mounts until finally just sucking it up and buying the MONTAR after reading several online reviews stating it was consistently top 3.I'm two weeks in. Hot weather and cold weather have had no affect, nor has fast driving on sustained bumpy roads. This thing hasn't budged. The spring is tight so your phone doesn't droop or fall down like other cheaper mounts. However it is not so tight that you can't place the phone in the mount or remove it with one hand on the fly. It's not too huge and does not obstruct view. It's long enough that you can still reach your phone while driving. I hate that I paid $35.00 for this thing but I'm glad the search is over and I finally have one that works

Just won't stick to the dash
Lot of good reviews but my experience just hasn't been as good as others. The device itself is nice - feels sturdy, adjustments are easy. But, this will just NOT stick to the dashboard. It will stick for a few hours or day, and then just falls off. I have tried many different locations and have it on a pretty flat portion of the dash, so curvature should not be a problem. I have cleaned over and over the dash thinking maybe there is something oily. Nothing has improved it. It basically doesn't get used as it just does not stay attached.
