HP Z27s J3G07A4#ABA 27-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor

The 4K UHD display is outstanding! The overall appearance is excellent. A great buy for the price. Only the packaging says "not new". If this is refurbished, who needs "new". The shipping was a bit slow, but arrived in pristine condition.

So first off. I didnt buy this product from Amazon--because Amazon wasn't selling them yet; but these are absolutely fantastic monitors; except that I had to send one of the pair I ordered back for an exchange as it had dust behind the panel. Even though that is a frighteningly common quality issue among 4k monitors early (seems like Dell and Acer have the same issue, LG and Samsung dont but those monitors are a bit more expensive). Basically this would be an great 5 star review if not for having to do an exchange.In terms of build quality, thee monitors are very solid. Unlike the Acer monitors I looked at, the bezel is of high quality and there are no gaps in construction anywhere. The Dell 27 inch 4K initially ordered was also really poor quality in this department with a very thin plastic bezel that flexed to the tough. The HP reminds me of the kind of build quality that Samsung used to use for the commercial monitors. As in--I am pretty sure that 5 years from now this thing will still be on my desk, but I will be looking for any excuse to get a new monitor :). The stand is fully adjustable and pivots as well. The 4 USB ports are also 3.0 and work well and this monitor comes with both DisplayPort and Mini DP cables. The power unit is built into the monitor. This monitor is also an IPS panel with a nice antiglare coating. Not too grainy, but also not glossy.Once you turn on the monitor, they are gorgeous with even color. LIke all larger LED monitors if you turn down the back light there is some darkness along the edges, but its as good as anything I have seen. The calibrated color is very accurate. While I have not yet run exact numbers on these monitors, I was able to set them to the native setting out of the box and to my eyes, both of these monitors look identical and have the same color as a pair of calibrated LGs that are part of the same setup. Overall, I am really thrilled with these monitors and consider them to be great purchase.For context on my purchase. I have a pair of these HP's and a pair of LGs in porttrait mode that I use for work as well as photo editing on my machine. After trying a few monitors both in stores, in studios and at home, I had originally decided that I wanted a pair of LG31MU97s. Unfortunately that monitor was a little too big for my desk and the pair was too expensive. The Acers werent impressive in use in the store and they felt cheap to the touch. The Dells just didn't impress me with their construction and worse yellow zones (i didnt experience the weird DP issues that other had with that monitor). These HPs ended up costing only a little more than the Acers and Dells and have been perfect with the exception of having to do the initial exchange.I highly recommend these--and given the lack of reviews on this product; I hope that someone else will find this review to be helpful.
