Most of the other clipboards had a 1/4” where one could hold paper, writing instruments, et al.I preferred something more compact to facilitate carrying it from property-to-property; it meets MY needs and was the ONLY clipboard that met my stringent requirements. The GoodIngenious hinge allows privacy cover to fold backwards so that it lays flat. Allows it to operate like a standard clipboard. One side is raised so that about 35 sheets of standard 8x11 sheets of paper remain securely clipped in place without sliding off the board and clip. It is lightweight and stows neatly in my backpack.The BadVery thin gauge aluminum. A corner arrived bent during shipping. I was able to straighten it out with pliers and was satisfied enough to not hassle with a return. Drop this on its edge, though, and forget it. It will likely bend and deform to the point of at best looking shabby and at worst no longer being functional.The UglyWhen you have 20+ sheets of paper, the privacy cover bends and distorts, worse when you reach paper capacity (30-40). That’s a consequence of the double hinged privacy cover that enables it to flip behind the clipboard and lay flat. The solution would be thicker aluminum and a slight bend at the base to accommodate the thickness of 35 sheets of paper. I was able to press just such a bend using an aluminum straight edge attached to a 2x4. Perhaps something the product’s engineer should consider on the next iteration of this product. Next, the security latch (keeps the privacy cover closed during transport) swings loosely making it 50/50 keeping the privacy cover in place - very poor engineering here.Bottom line:It more or less works for me until I drop it (which is just a matter of time given the hustle bustle of a hospital) at which it likely won’t. If it were heavier gauge aluminum (hospital or commercial grade), a bend to accommodate thick paper, with a robust working security latch, I’d say it’s just about perfect. Compact, HIPA compliant, holds a lot of paper, very convenient to take notes. Just very flimsy construction unlikely to hold up over the long term. For this price point, I expected better quality, fit and finish.

Nice and heavy duty, purchased for nursing school and it is great. I am able to fully flip the front around the back and out of the way when I am working with a patient.

I use this clip board for site inspections and like the feature that the privacy cover is able to rotates 360 degrees for me to take notes or protect field notes.

Works good, wish the hinge was double jointed to accommodate a note pad. But still happy with it.
