Excellent Monitor!
Wow! I've only used this a few days but so far I'm extremely impressed. Accurate proper colors which seem harder to find now days. I use it for streaming Netflix, Prime, Hulu etc as a bedroom TV as well as graphics and photo editing as a monitor.I've been using a very old Ultrasharp 20" for 15 years (cost a fortune back in the day). I've replaced it twice but the new monitors always were blown out with saturation I couldn't tune out so I would go back to the 'old' one just for the picture quality. This Dell has that quality. It's also extremely attractive with the ultra thin bezel. At this price I don't think you can do better. At full retail maybe, but at this Amazon deal I don't think so.Pros:- Awesome accurate color and image reproduction- Very attractive (I have it in a corner of my bedroom)- Audio output to external speakers (you can use multiple source connections like a Firestick and still get audio output as well as the PC and any other sources plugged in). 2 channel only of course but USB out audio may be capable of surround if you have an amp or powered speakers with USB in. Haven't tried it or researched it.- Video quality is exceptional as well with minimal or no speed issues (blurring etc) that I've noticed.- Comes with DisplayPort and Mini-DisplayPort connectors.- A lot of adjustablity and an eco-meter. I keep it turned down in a dark room, but it will go insanely bright. Not sure the actual power draw at these settings but with IPS I doubt it's much.- The 2560x1440 resolution is perfect for this 27" IMO. Reading is no issue, everything is sharp without pixelation like a 1920x1080 would, yet without things being to small like higher res screen would be.- Blacks are very good. Better than I thought they would be. Contrast is excellent.- Tilt, rotate and height adjustable! Mandatory for my needs where I use it as a monitor and turn it to watch TV while in bed.Cons:- Feels cheap. My old Ultrasharp was built like a tank. This thing is light and plasticy but works. Turning it moves the stand unless I hold it down. Adding a pound of weight to the stand would of gone a long way. It gets the job done though. How often do you touch a monitor?- I really wish it had two HDMI inputs instead of multiple DisplayPorts. I have to get a cheap card with DisplayPort to use a Firestick in the HDMI. I assume since it's not a gaming monitor but an enterprise business monitor.- That's literally it. I absolutely love this thing. Hope it holds up for years like my old Ultrasharp.- Can't speak for gaming on it. 6MS I think should be fine. I use a console and a 70" tv for gaming.

Excellent monitor, works well with Apple computers
What's not to love? The bezel is extremely thin all around, about a half inch, the monitor is light and can be easily raised and lowered without adjusting any knobs or anything. Aside from the svelt shape which makes it seems like a smaller monitor than it is, 27" is a great size for me that enables me to have at least three Word documents side by side which makes work a lot easier for me. The screen is bright and the colors are great. Glare coating isn't annoying me at all, and definitely cuts down glare compared with a glossy display. The additional USB ports are fabulous if you have a lot of external peripherals. I have a MacBook Pro and Mac Mini that I can hook up and switch between them easily if I need to, plus multiple USB ports for external hard drives or hubs. The Dell UltraSharp line has a great reputation and you can really see why--the price was very reasonable for the quality. No it's not 4K, but as of right now I don't foresee needing 4K for awhile. Resolution is very sharp and crisp, I was reluctant to go to a non-Apple Retina display, but I really don't see a huge difference from the 27" iMac's display so why pay more? The function buttons are okay, and relatively easy to switch from one input source to another. For those Apple users, you should know that an external display will mess with conveniences like being able to adjust the volume using your keyboard if your speakers are plugged into the display directly. There's a way around that using the free Soundflower utility which I don't think is being developed anymore unfortunately but still works and it's still not as easy. You can also get lags in sound so be sure to increase the buffer size in Soundflower if that happens. No complaints so far with this monitor.

Great screen, won't last very long and horrible customer support
Bought 5 screens of this type. 3 broke within the warranty. Dell support was incredible unhelpful, rude and refused me to replace one monitor within the warranty. I cannot recommend buying anything from Dell via Amazon as they cannot validate Amazon invoices and you have to go through weeks of customer support struggles via email, phone and twitter and still won't get your entitled warranty replacement. Too sad, since the hardware itself is actually pretty good except its lifetime.

Perfect Monitor
Did I need a new, larger monitor? NoDid I "want" a new, larger monitor? Yes"Want" trumped "need", and I am very satisfied with that decision. This saga began when I saw a beautiful 27" monitor after which my puny 24" Acer just didn't seem to be adequate. Up to that point, Mr Acer was satisfying my needs very well.So the search began. I'm an old retired guy that spends several hours daily sitting in front of a monitor searching the internet, reading the newspaper and working email. Looking at a multitude of reviews, I settled on a 1920x1080, 27" Dell. It was reasonably priced but currently not available on Amazon. That's OK, I'll just order it and wait.During the wait, I kept reviewing and noticed several comments that a 27" is much better in the 2560x1440 resolution. After awhile it became "necessary" that I have the better resolution. As the prior order was on a wait list, cancelling the order was no problem. So, back to the hunt.I soon discovered that monitors in that resolution are more pricey, over 300% more. However, by now I was convinced the better resolution was not negotiable. My new Dell U2717D is exactly what I wanted. Beautiful color, very thin bezel, sturdy stand, and sharp pictures.

1 star because everyone read 1 star rating! (but ...
1 star because everyone read 1 star rating ! (but give around 3)As I excpected, backlight bleeding when I first open it (straight out from the box) ...Second, If you are a photographer or a graphic designer, you MUST calibrate it .. And be aware that its not that simple.(I use this screen with a macbookpro, and color are definitly not the same)

Very annoying. 2) The monitor has an overall "Blue Tint"
I bought it based on so called Expert Reviews so here are my comments..1) I arrived with a cluster of dead pixels on the lower left area, so I'm assuming that Dell's quality control figured some idiot out there will accept this "defect". Maybe they are trying out consumer's tolerance dumping defective products. I tried to work with it for a few days and finding myself constantly trying to get rid of that spec of dust. Very annoying.2) The monitor has an overall "Blue Tint". Even if you set the color to "Warm". I tried different color settings to bring it close to my Dell's U2410. It made the U2410 look Yellow which next to my Samsung 244T looked Bluish.3) Light bleed? Yes, but I expected It and didn't find it that annoying. What I found annoying was the reflection. I'm doing CAD on black background and I'm for ever wearing white shirt so seeing myself moving in the background was tiring. I needed to adjust the room light and wear dark clothing to become a bit acceptable. which made the light bleed more noticeable. So, I figured spending $750 and having to adjust myself to accommodate it was not worth Itand boxed it up for return. The funny thing is that the last moment I decided to exchange itbut I could not find anything on Amazon about "Exchange". I've never had to return anything in the past soI figured they'd have something like, after you explain the Defect, Sending you an other one and pick up the defective one.Maybe these Amazon geniuses should come up with an "Exchange" method. Maybe it's already there. Hidden somewherefor the genius consumers to find It.

Degraded quickly
Item had some dead pixels after a few months of use. Sadly, this is acceptable with monitors.
