I got 4 for living room
Bad idea. These are NOT home theater speakers. They have no bass but are very clear and get pretty loud. They do sound great at low volumes and that's what they're really for.

and I'm glad I did
This is the review I posted on the Polk speakers these ones replaced: "I originally thought these were a little more expensive than I thought this type of speaker should be, but considering the reviews I decided it would probably be worth the money. I decided to test them before cutting the holes in my ceiling etc, and I'm glad I did. The Polks had lots of muddy mid's and high's but the low's were almost non-existent. Just to be sure I wasn't being too picky of a small sized speaker, I did a side by side test with an older pair of Electro-Voice Evid 4.2 speakers. These are the ones that Best Buy used to use in their CD section to play the music from (which is why I decided to buy them back in the day). The Evid 4.2 speakers (which are more of a surface mount speaker) were hands down the better speaker. I don't know why, but the reviews on the Polk speakers were WAY off. Instead of installing the Polk RC80i's, I laid down the extra money to buy the equivalent recessed speaker by Electro-Voice, called Evid C8.2. This was money well spent! There may be a lot of better options than the Polk RC80i's, but I can highly recommend the Evid C8.2 as an alternative that will knock your socks off!"

Clear with Good Imaging
I was able to come across these speakers at a surplus store for $10 a piece, so I purchased 6 of them. I can not say how impressed I am with these speakers. They are very detailed and clear. I know these are supposed to be commercial grade speakers that are made to get really loud, but they are also very clear with very good imaging. I am using these in my kitchen with a Polk sub and as surrounds in my living room. I have some B&W 602's in my living room for my mains, but these speakers give them a run for their money in regards to clarity and imaging. The B&W's are better for lows, but these seem to have better imaging so they work very well for surround speakers.
