Great garden tool!
I bought this to replace the other one that my sister gave me years ago. The last one had a cheap sheath that I didn't use, but this one actually has a decent well made one. If I would be carrying this on a belt I think I would make my own out of heavy leather. This yard knife is sharp on the serrated edge and taking this in and out of the sheath will probably end up cutting the stitching up eventually. But I will hook it to my garden pail which should be just fine to store after I clean it at the end of the day.It came in a nice box for gift giving, the box will repurpose great for bits and pieces in my potting shed. The Knife itself was put together beautifully, the wood looks nice, the blade is clean and sharp, and the measurements nicely stamped in the blade (no worries about them wearing off). I was pleasantly pleased with this purchase!!

I am in love!
I had heard of the Hori Hori as a 'recommended tool for your garden', but had never seen one in person. After breaking 3 trowels trying to dig out weeds, I decided to try THIS. It arrived and I thought I'd just 'try' it out one evening. It was almost dark, chilly, and started to rain. I was just going to pop 3 weeds in my upper yard, but it worked so well, I continued for half an hour in my lower yard and cleared a whole bucket full of weeds. I was so excited about how well it holds up that I didn't even mind the rain, chill, and dim light. This is a must have if you do your own gardening!

Great digging and cutting tool.
Great digging and cutting tool. Surprisingly sharp and rugged. Love the full tang construction. Beautiful wood. Great shape, size and weight for serious gardening. I am a big guy, and appreciate how well this fits my hand.I thought about taking a star off for the sheath. It is well made, but the design is so-so. If the sheath was deeper, one could put the knife into it, and take it out, more easily. The relatively short sheath means you have to use two hands to put it back in place. I have a cheaper hori hori knife that has a deeper, rigid leather sheath, and it is much more functional if you are going back and forth, in and out of the sheath. This is such a great knife that I went with the five stars anyway, but the sheath is a little annoying.

I am doing landscaping/gardening for a private garden and it has been terrific for weeding
This knife is dope. I've only had it for about a month but it has served me well so far. I am doing landscaping/gardening for a private garden and it has been terrific for weeding. The serrated edge has allowed me to dig up or cut through vines with ease. It looks a bit intimidating and I'm afraid I'll scare off guests but no one has said anything so far! There are many different hori hori knives out there and I bought my mother one a few years ago that is of a different brand and has held up real well all these years but I think this particular one works just as well and looks a little less scary! I haven't used it for anything other than gardening but I do think it would be great for general purpose outdoors! I'll come back with an update after a few more months at my job and maybe if I go backpacking with it :) Great knife - would definitely recommend.

Nice Tool
This is a well made Gardening tool. Nice stainless steel blade, full tang, and three brass rivets to attach the hardwood handle. The main reason I bought this tool is because it has a full guard to prevent your hand from slipping as the blade is nice and sharp. The leather sheath is OK. The strap that attaches it to your belt is rather this and the leather is not the best quality but to me the sheath wasn't that important. The presentation box probably started out at the factory OK. It has a nice magnetic opening flap but by the time Amazon and UPS get through with it, it is totally trashed. The knife is too heavy and not secured well in the box and in transit comes through the side of the box. I ordered two of these tools and they both came this way. I will say that Cielcera was proactive and great about this and made it right. The reason for only 4 stars is because I feel the sheath could have been better made.

Best purchase I have made in a long time
Best purchase I have made in a long time. Has replaced ALL of my weeding tools and even my awesome bulb digger. I have been using this on untilled soil, heavily compacted. I would use something else if it's too rocky though, just to protect this tool. But even if you use it around annoying weed vines that tend to root woody, the sharp serrated edge takes care of that. And if you have Bermuda weed grass growing in your beds, this will certainly do the trick. I try to be as organic as possible and since I have recently converted 1/2 acre into gardens, both landscape and edibles, I am constantly weeding by hand. And trying to pull everything out (with roots), I have gone through many different tools and finally I have found one that won't bend and gets through everything I've tried it on. I even use it as my go-to bulb hole digger cuz it goes in the dirt so effortlessly without any of the wrist-turning that leaves my wrist and forearms throbbing after a while. Heck, I even use it for all my transplant veggies and small annuals/perennials instead of a shovel. Pay the price for this one. You'll be glad you did. Throw all the other junk away.

Not comfortable for small hands.
The knife is sturdy but the handle is rectangular and awkward on the hands. Hard to get a good grip on it with my small hands and it's uncomfortable to hold. There are no finger ridges in the handle to keep grip from slipping which makes it difficult to apply much downward pressure as when digging out a weed. The handle has a drilled hole in the upper part which presumably is for stringing a rope or hanging the tool up on a hook. There is a small chip (defect) in the top part of the hole on one side involving the handle body.
