Lyman7810222 Outside Chamfer Tool

This is a high quality tool that works very well as designed, using the comfortable and ergonomic plastic handle, and is worthy of a five star rating on those merits alone, but this tool really shines when mounted in a powered multi-station case prep tool like the RCBS Case Prep Center. It deburrs case necks very quickly, and it's much easier to keep the case neck perpendicular to the tool that's mounted in the powered base station, as opposed to turning the brass in one hand and turning the tool in the other hand. I wish Lyman made similar high quality low maintenance tools that trim, chamfer and deburr in one tool, even though such a tool would need to be used in a machine that controlled the trim length. All of the 3-in-1 case neck tools I've seen from the big reloading manufacturers use designs that are expensive, difficult to adjust, or jam with chips. Barring that, it'd be nice if Lyman offered this tool without the handle for $1 to $2 less. I'm getting a collection of these handles that I don't use because I use the case prep center to process brass by the hundreds or thousands.The Lyman VLD Outside Chamfer Tool can be seen in the lower left (station #3) of the picture I uploaded.

Works great after trimming cases. I bought the redding primer pocket uniformer and it came with a drill bit to install in a power drill, and these threads are the same. Depending on the amount of cases I would definitely look for something to attach to a power drill or motorized prep station. If not the handle is ergonomic and has a rubber non-slip cover.

The cutting edges don’t cut, they burnish edges down and are pretty noisy

High quality like all Lyman products. I got both the outside and inside chamfer tools, and have been very pleased with them. They’re not _cheap_, but the price is reasonable. They’re super comfortable to work with.

this is a must have tool if you purchase the Frankford Arsenal Platinum Series Case Trim and Prep Center System. I purchase this tool to replace the cheap cutters that came with it. works awesome, cuts fast and clean.

Works perfectly! Prepping brass has gotten much easier and faster with the right tools.

I'm torn between just using this and getting an electric tool but either way this is MUCH easier on old hands than the little double sided metal tool.

It is very sharp and works fine. The handle is comfortable and aids in the work. Well made wirh good quality
