Wonderful book
Interesting science information in this book with some wonderful synonyms in some languages.. I like my baby to have it.

Baby loves it
I bought this and was a little hesitant as to whether baby would enjoy. He does! At 20 months, it is one of his favourite books and has been for a few months (and for naming objects, it is ideal).

Good book but a few things I don't like
I just got this book yesterday. I love how many different things there are in this book. I bought it from Amazon used and it came to me in perfect condition. I just started potty training my 18 month old so this book is big enough that she can take it on the potty with her and it keeps her entertained for awhile, and she has the attention span of an ant. there are a few things that I don't like about the book. 1. It is spiral bound and the pages are very very easy to rip out with an 18 month old who is a bit on the wild side. I usually only do board books with her right now because she doesn't realize how gentle we have to be with pages (we are working on it). I just got this yesterday and we have used it a few times and so far she has not ripped any pages out, however I do see it in the near future happening because the pages are so fragile. 2. There is an entire page before you begin that says "How to use this book" however it doesn't really tell you how to get the most out of this book. It basically just tells you the different categories, and on the very back of the book it gives you 4 ideas of things, unrelated to the book, that you can do with your toddler. 3. this is supposed to be 365 days, however if you are learning one thing a day, and only 171 pages, that inevitably means there will be multiple lessons on one page. on some pages there are 3 days worth of lessons on one page. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, just means we will be spending three days on the same thing in a row since my toddler will not read just the one. All these things are just things that would be nice to have but not needed for learning, more convince. Overall though the book is fantastic and a great way to learn.

A little disappointed!
I have said many times I am a fan of Baby Einstein and I still am, but this book is not a book of 365 days of activities. Now, they have 365 boxes on all the pages but I can't see anyone doing one box and then putting the book away.Like many have said the pages can tear out very easily so this book really isn't a baby friendly book so you as the parent or grand parent have to keep your eye on the child. Otherwise your pages will be on the floor.I saw one person's review who stated bring it down when you are ready to use it and put it back up in a safe place when you are done...I think that is great advice! Now, with all that said this book can be used as an interactive "Book" I can't see any child wanting you to read this book from cover to cover in one sitting but I do think they will give you a good 15 or 20 minutes of attention while you discuss the different things in the book!I bought my book "Used" for under 2.00 dollars and although it wasn't exactly what I hoped for as far as activities goes...It is still a good book and a way to get you to interact with your child or grand child.

Another Julie Clark hit- my 20 month old loves it!
This is an awesome book. My 20-month old bookworm owns over 100 books already, but this one is his current favorite. He brings it to me several times a day to read. This book is great because it is so interactive- it encourages toddlers to point to and name objects, colors, etc. It's given me lots of ideas for how to make reading more interactive with his other books as well. Parts of it are a bit advanced for his age, e.g., some of the poems are rather long, but I'm sure he'll grow into them eventually. Other parts of the book are too easy for him, but that's what makes it so useful- you could use this book with all ages, from newborn to toddler. Once again, Julie Clark knows exactly how to appeal to toddlers: the pictures are bright and attention-grabbing, the texts, for the most part, short and rhythmic. Each page has a few images with either brief text or labels, e.g., numbers, colors, or objects. The book teaches hundreds of common vocabulary words, prepositions, etc. There are sections that teach common objects in Spanish, French, Hebrew, and Japanese (with pronunciation hints.) There are pages about animals, with photos and a couple of paragraphs of text about the animal (The latter more appropriate for an older toddler.) There are also several pages with famous works of art that encourage older toddlers to interact with the painting, e.g., by picking out objects. There are sections that show Pavlov the dog displaying different emotions, e.g., surprise, anger, happiness, etc.Overall, this book is quite a bargain and Amazon has a good price on it currently. It's really the equivalent of 20 regular-size books because it's so chock-full of interesting material. My only complaint is that the book is spiral-bound and NOT reinforced, so it's very easy for an over-eager toddler to rip a page out. You just have to keep it out of your toddler's reach when not in use.
