Seattle Sports 1/2" Bulk Foam with Adhesive, Gray
T**.
Stays in place in my kayak.....
I've used this foam to put heel pads under the footrests of my touring kayak, to add extra depth to the thigh braces and to line my kayak "trolley"...(you know the thing with 2 wheels that you fasten under the stern to be able to pull it along on wheels instead of carrying it by bow and stern handles...). This is my second purchase of this item. (It also comes 1/4" inch but I've used the 1/2" twice now)It has performed well...stays stuck in place and has not peeled up. If you have a composite rigid gel coated boat this foam is great because it is so easy to scuff and abrade the gel coat on the hull. Just be sure you place it correctly the first time...there is no moving this once it's "stuck" down. I've used the boat quite a lot this year including wet exit training and it stayed in place. I was concerned the heel rests would come up over time but they are fine...still in place with no sign of peeling off.....

Great product, just not the right one for my project!
This is a high quality product, however, it wasn't suitable for what I wanted to do with it. My plan was to use it as thigh pads for my kayak. I've looked high and low for something to use since I've been unable to find actual pads designed for the purpose. There are a couple on Amazon but they either don't have good reviews or are out of stock or are horribly expensive. $50! Get real! The adhesive on this product is very strong. It sticks well to everything except my kayak. The problem is that NOTHING sticks to the under lip (cowling) of my kayak. Nothing. Nada. And yes, I cleaned the entire area with acetone first. Three times.Stuff sticks well to the outside but not the inside. So I've got these beautiful, carefully measured, precisely cut, 4 X 12 inch pieces of foam stuck FIRMLY to the outside edge of the cowling but no longer folded over the edge. The adhesive stuck well initially but within a couple of hours it peeled away. Fortunately, I've found that acetone dissolves the adhesive that's left over when you rip the foam to shreds getting it off. It's a mess but it works. 😕

The adhesive keeps it in place beautifully. Works as good or better than the insoles
I bought this because I had bone spurs in my heal, and my doctor told me to buy expensive insoles. So after spending $18 for a pair that didn't last very long, I bought this, cut a patch, and put it into my shoes. The adhesive keeps it in place beautifully. Works as good or better than the insoles. NO MORE BONE SPUR PAIN. I don't mean it reduced the pain. It vanished. I have forgotten I ever had bone spurs. And I get about 20 pairs for less than one pair of insoles. Call me cheap.

I got this to put on the seats of newly purchase kayaks. I wasn't sure how well this would work, but I tried it anyways. I must say I am very please with how well it is performing. Sticks very well. Foam is dense enough to be effective. Also helps with not sliding around on seat.

Strong adhesive!! Great product.
The adhesive is amazing!! I was expecting it to barely adhere but it is extremely solid. I attempted to remove the foam after it was adhered to my project's surface and it would not come off without the foam tearing first. The foam is exactly as described and can be used for all kinds of fabrication projects. Great product.

Great product with plenty of uses.
There are likely thousand of uses for this stuff, but for my use, I have been very satisfied. I used some to make a cheek-riser for a rifle of mine just for competition use. I couldn't add much weight and still stay in the same class, so wood or polymer risers were out of the question. I used this in 1/2" thickness and it worked perfectly. The adhesive is very strong as long as you wife down the surface you are sticking it to with alcohol first. On a very hot day, I did have some parts lose a little stickiness on a black curved rifle stock, but after pushing those areas back down, they stick better than ever.I also made some cut-to-fit recoil pads for my Mosin Nagant rifles, and they work perfectly. Nothing permanent, and if they ever wear out, I just peel off the pads and put new ones on. They don't control recoil quite as well as a commercial pad, but they are also much cheaper, and stay on the gun a lot better.

Not the product described or shown!
Wow. What a disappointment. The photo on Amazon showed three pieces of foam and an image of the peel-and-stick adhesive back. What we received was one slab of foam with no adhesive back. So disappointing! I’ve contacted the company requesting a replacement unit with peel-and-stick adhesive back. How else would I attach this to my kayak? Duh?!

Don’t be misled
Very miss leading ad. You think you are going to receive 3 pieces as in the picture. Unfortunately only one for $24
