Axis-302 PC Stereo Headset with Boom Microphone

I purchased this microphone because I wanted a hands-free microphone to use with Yahoo Messenger. Since this headset is one of the cheapest on the market, I thought I would give it a try. I like that you can easily adjust the microphone closer to your mouth for better voice recognition. It also picks up your voice as good as you would want for talking with another person. However, trying to use the headphones and microphone at the same time did not work for me. The microphone worked great, but it was very difficult to hear the other person in the headphones. I tried adjusting the volume on my system (I use Windows XP), but no luck.I think the worst complaint I have with this headset is that it isn't one that will last a good amount of time. I used this headset for about a year when the microphone died on me. I think it may have had something to do with the fact that I was wrapping the cord, but still! I also gave the same headset to my boyfriend, and the same happened to him. His microphone just stopped working.Okay, so I did buy another one of these headsets, but in the same day the piece that holds the microphone broke when I tried to adjust it. So now I have to tape it in place to talk with it. This was enough of a sign to tell me that I will never buy another headset from Labtec!

Okay first i decided to buy these offline since i was at the store, first. they do not have a separate boom, i was expecting a switch or something to raise and lower the bass this is not so with these, secondly it is about 6 foot 7 at the most in foot from headphones to plug. third they are light weight and they are very comfortable, the bass i have on my pc is all the way up and it usually causes headphones to become all static these however stood up to major bass. However the fact that there have been bad reviews on this made me a bit leery to buy it even offline however after speaking to a store rep and asking a few questions i paid almost double for these. now they remind me of my old ones. Plus they are very light weight, easy to use and colour coded, however i would be very cautious about pulling on the wires or going to get something and jerking the wire to much as you can cause the internal wires to fray and break, fixing it by repairing the end will not help you at all, the good news is my old pair lasted 3 years, so i am expecting the same life out of the new pair. With that said these are okay for the money you are spending if you are in a pinch and it is an emergency. I do have one single complaint and i have always had sometimes even when you first use these people have had to say what to me while making an internet call or on skype so it does distort your voice and crackle so i would suggest moving the mic upwards a bit away from your mouth while talking as the so called boom does make things a bit distorted while talking or even singing. I do recommend these only for speaking and not for singing as these are only for speech. If you do sing with them you are taking your chances of not only blowing the mic but blowing the headset itself. Unplugging it during a storm is a must as it will cause major feed back and may hurt your sound card on your pc. other than that these are an okay emergency set, just remember you do get what you pay for when you are using a lower quality head set. I recently purchased this headset microphone. I saw the inexpensive price and i kind of figured that it was cheap and it wouldn't work. I proved myself wrong. It doesnt have as high of quality as some of its competitors but if your in the market for an inexpensive midranged quality microphone, this product is for you. I reccomend this headset for gaming/multimedia.

I can't imagine what more you would want from a headset. Voice is crystal clear, loud, and without background noise with these. We've tried sets that are literally ten times the price and the quality was in no way better. The headphone sound is adequate, there is a handy mic mute button on the cord, plus a volume control. But the main thing is how good the recorded voice is, and that is spectacular. We used these for professional multimedia creation, recorded and live streaming audio. And for the price, it's amazing. I don't know about USB sets or what advantages they might have.

I got these for one use...Gaming. When I got them, they were great! The sound was clear, consistant, and the microphone was amazingly CLEAR! The only gruge I have against them is that it broke about a month after I purchased them. Other than that, I'd recommend them to anyone with intrests in gaming or any kind of entertainment.
