ALPS Mountaineering Reservoir 3.0

Unfortunately, the pack I received did not match the description or the one pictured. It is missing some key features such as the 3-way articulating bit valve (the one I received is fixed) as well as the part on the tube which I believe to be the part that prevents backwash and air from entering the tube. I was looking forward to those features so I was disappointed that the pack I received didn’t have them. I did some research and realized that the model number on other sites for this hydration pack is 7730015, while the model number for this one is 7730011. I believe it is an older model of the same pack. The newer pack is the one in the pictures and description, but that is not the one you will receive if you place an order for this item. I gave it 2 stars because my husband decided to keep this pack to use with his Alps backpack (he doesn’t care about the articulating bit valve) but I ordered myself a new one from somewhere else. I wanted to write this review to let others know what they would be getting if they order this product. I’ve included pictures of the pack I received so you can see the differences.

Looks great, havent been able use yet. Brought it for hunting trips out west

The bite valve stopped working for me right before I left for my Philmont trek.(Literally 15 minutes before we left to go to our first campsite) I got a replacement bite valve and then on the second day the quick connect valve on the unit stopped working. Thankfully I was able to use it as a dromedary, but was not able to use it as its intended purpose. Then on the 4th day the other unit broke at the quick connect valve too. I didn't have the time to investigate what the problem was so I had to purchase two new bladders at the nearest commissary. It gets 2 stars because the units do not leak and I can use them to transport 3L of water so I can find a use for them yet.

Worked great for sandhills hunting trip! Fit into backpack perfectly!

Holds water for drinking and no leaks after trudging through the woods. It does what it's supposed to. Enough water for an all day sit which is what I like
