Great Set
I've owned this since the middle of 2012...let me just say I waited so long to write a review because I always check reviews before purchasing and I always wish to find that one person who has had something for more than a couple of weeks and still wishes to give it a good review. Also...lazy...I actually thought "I should do a review after having it 6 months to a year" and it's been close to three years.I've owned it for about 2.5 years....no regrets. I love the pots, they are my favorite part of it and what gets used the most. Sure they have gotten some discoloration from cooking...part of life, sorry folks. They clean easily even if you accidentally burn something in them, I know from experience. They have some of that rainbow discoloration from water. Not horribly though. That's mainly the inside, the outside basically looks like perfect stainless steel. There are some hard water circles/deposits. That's just part of life where I live. There are ways to remove it, so no huge concerns there.Now...my pots are well cared for. They do not stay dirty long after use. I scrub them with a sponge. I have never once attacked them with stainless steel wool or anything more rough than a sponge for cleaning, nor have I felt the need to. I assume that wouldn't cause you any issues with it, but no guarantees, as I have not tried it.Onwards - the skillets. At this time, 2.5 years of ownership down the road, I look at the skillets and feel they need to be replaced. The teflon(sp?) coating is starting to chip off. I recently bought some stainless steel skillets so I don't have to worry about teflon coating chipping off into my food. Don't get me wrong, these non-stick pans worked absolutely wonderfully for quite some time. But age has it's way with things and these two little guys have seen a lot of use. I now use the non-stick pans as little as possible due to the teflon chipping off, mainly for eggs, which I will probably eventually/soon replace them with new non-stick pans that I need not have concerns on chipping teflon for some time with.I love the little bowls with lids. Love them. I use them fairly regularly. My only complaint was that they do not have larger sizes. They have these three, and then I have two more that are progressively larger. I use the little one for dips, cheese balls, the like. I use the middle sized one the least. I use the bigger one for storing washed fruit, typically grapes or something similar...I have made a big batch of guacamole and put it in the bigger bowl with the lid, works great...I have never tested these plastic lids with something hot inside of the bowl. These aren't items I use daily, but I do use them regularly and love them.Lastly...the baking sheet/pan. The pan is truly non-stick. I remember early on after purchasing it I made super cheesy enchiladas in two pans. They got stuck in the other pan, and slid right out of this one. It is still nicely non-stick with few exceptions. It has some scratches along the edges due to unnamed persons using a fork to do things like get slices of cake out of the pan. And there is one mar in the very center of the pan where someone used a knife to slice something (I believe cake) in the pan and cut the coating of the pan. I watch this closely for signs of rust as I will feel the need to discard the pan should this occur. But other than some mishandling by various individuals, the baking pan has been great. The baking sheet...ehhhh...it's okay. It is my least favorite piece of the set. It pops when it gets hot in the oven. At least mine does. Like...you put it in as a flat baking sheet, and as it starts heating it pops and one end kind of twists slightly, leaving the pan no longer flat. I've actually had it pop/bend so hard/suddenly that it's done some food tossing...not all over my oven or anything, but definitely misplaced it from where it had been put. Also, in cleaning this, if you do not use a paper towel or something to dry the end of the handle (underneath where it's bent over/curled over to make a smooth handle to grab...it rusts. The water gets trapped in the little space and it rusts. I still use this piece, but I'm very ehh about it. Mine is very discolored/not very pretty anymore. Something got burnt on it and the elbow grease to scrub it off left the surface marred and removed some of the non-stick coating.

Best Kitchenware Ever!!!!!!
Just like Grandma used to have!Yes these pots and pans have been slightly updated from their older version, but they still function and clean up just as well. I purchased these because my Grandmother had a set of them my whole life and they were always dependable, and seemingly indestructible. I say indestructible because I have managed to destroy many non stick pots: scratching the coat off and melting the coat of non stick yuckyness- and that literally stinks horribly and ruins the meal and the pot! The Farberware pots and pans are heavy duty, stainless steel, and best of all- there's no non stick coating on the pots to ruin if you leave your beans unattended (in my case cleaning house) with the fire up a tad too high. The lids are not glass, they are also stainless steel. So no dropping lids and stressing the glass which in turn eventually break. These stainless steel lids sit nicely on the pots, the bell shape keeps the moisture in the pot and when the lid is removed the bell shape actually helps with not dripping the condensation on the lid all over the stove. This Farberware Classic Stainless Steel set is perfect for any cook of any age. For young cooks who are learning, for cooks who try to fold the laundry while the beans have 2 minutes left, for cooks who are a little clumsy and drop their kitchenware, and even the older much more experienced cooks who just want a good high quality classic cookware set. Regardless of the age or expertise, this set is hands down the best that is out there for anyone! And I must add- I searched everywhere including macy's, sears, walmart, target, and tons of places online. This was the only set I ever saw that was a great brand, that had stainless steel lids, and sturdy design. After moving out on my own I have ruined 3 sets of nonstick pots. I laugh now because now that I have this set, it will never happen again. The Farberware Classic Stainless Steel 17-Piece Cookware Set is the best cookware set on the market today!

Just Like My Mama's!
Great cookware set. I bought this set based on the number of pieces in comparison to the price, and the added bonus of the three lidded mixing bowls and the two baking sheets. I read many of the reviews beforehand and looked at similar sets in stores. The price of course was among the best anywhere, which is why I'm a frequent Amazon shopper. My parents have had a set of these Farberware pans since their wedding 40 years ago, and every single piece still looks like new. They use them daily, even still. I don't see any difference in quality between my (this) set and theirs. After owning Calphalon pans, I am comfortable saying that these Plain Jane pots and pans are, in my opinion, of far better and long lasting quality than more expensive brands. Some reviewers mentioned spotting on the inside bottom of some pans, even after one use. I have experienced this as well with some of them, but it doesn't affect their function. I'm so glad I talked some sense into myself and decided to go for practical and economical over fancy looks. It's a pan, after all; not home decor.

Well worth the price.
Got tired of the teflon covered pans lasting only a few months because they start flaking off in your food. You get what you pay for I suppose. Finally decided to invest in a more expensive set, and I think this set is the best priced for the quality. The handles are made of cheap plastic, which could prove fatal later I suppose, but otherwise, these are attractive looking, sturdy stainless steel pots and pans. I liked that this set came with a cake pan and a cookie sheet as well. It's nice to update so many kitchen pieces at the same time. Like I said, worth the price for the amount of things you are getting and the general quality.
