Great design
This phone mount adapter is very well made. Adhesive seems to hold very strong and quickly. Contoured to a slightly curved dash very nicely.

works great - yes even in extreme heat if you do it right.
Many reviews claimed they couldn't get the adhesive to stick... You need to do some surface prep. for smooth plastic you may need to lightly sand with 200 or 400 grit, just to get a little texture for the adhesive to get a hold of, then knock off the sanding dust, and clean with alcohol.I have mounted this with the phone mount and a pixel7a on the dash of my 2011 Tundra, it is exposed to southern California sun constantly and has been in there since the beginning of summer.. Its holding up just fine and hasn't moved at all. On road and occassional dirt road use -- I'm not doing any hard off-road.

Comes in handy
Design and build quality are great. Perfect fit for my dashboard to use with my phone mount accessories. Very sticky so it stays attached. Great functionality for Ram mount accessories.

Update, issue fixed. Wrapping paper tape is stickier than this junk
Update - Emailed RAM and asked for a new adhesive pad. The promptly sent 2 pads free of charge. The one I reviewed below must have been defective. The new pad sticks rock solid to the dimpled, textured dashboard. Will not stick to the dimpled dash board of a 2020 Sierra. One side of the double-sided sticky pad was really tacky. That side stuck to the plastic ball mount just fine. The other side was barely sticking to the dash board, However, instructions say let it set for 24 hours so I gave it a chance. After 24 hours, the adhesive base wouldn't support the rest of the RAM phone mount. It pulled off with hardly any effort.I've used another adhesive base phone mount stuck to a dimpled dash board in another vehicle and it held rock solid for years. Don't spend the 13 bucks for this joke of an "adhesive" mount. Adhesive implies that it will stick to stuff. This mount doesn't.I'll contact the company directly and ask for another adhesive pad because I find it hard to believe they are actually selling this to people. Maybe my sticky pad was bad. I'll update if they give another pad.

Excellent! But prepare your surface carefully beforehand...
Well designed, well made. I would have used the screw-down version but backside access is a problem in my particular application.Like anything set with adhesive in any vehicle (mine is on a runabout console - plastic - that sits in the Mexican sun), surface preparation is everything. Here's what I did: Wiped down area with simple green to remove oils. Then drew the outline of the pad on the console. Then using 120 grit sandpaper, I worked the area inside the outline until every bit of gloss was gone. Then cleaned the area with 90% rubbing alcohol. Finally, I dabbed a shop cloth wet with acetone on the area - this sets the plastic up for mating perfectly with the adhesive. Finally, I applied the adhesive disk and the mount on top. Because it's on a fairly horizontal surface, I placed a bag of sand on top to help with setting. Then I left it alone for 24 hours. 48 would have been better, but I wanted to get out on the water. The mount has worked flawlessly for holding both a small camera and a Garmin GPS (not simultaneously). I've hit it hard a couple of times moving past the console - no problem. The connection between the ball and the pad is well made. I am extremely happy with this product and am ordering two more - one for the car dash and another for the sailboat. If you can access the backside of whatever you want to mount a ball to, consider the model that offers screw holes and use nuts and bolts to do a proper job of it.

Not worth the cost
I purchased this to mount my cell phone to the dash of my RV. I chose this one because it is flexible and since the dash has a slight curve to it I though this would be a good fit. The area I mounted this is almost flat. I cleaned the area with 90% alcohol twice to ensure that it was free of all contaminants. I stuck the ball to the dash per the instructions and let it sit for a week. (The instructions say 24 hours but I wasn't leaving on a trip for a week so longer should be better...) I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and was using the Ram 6" arm and the phone mount. There is a little bit of weight to my setup but the suction cup mount works just fine for it so I thought this would too. Two hours into my trip the adhesive let go. I tried to stick it back on but as with most things that are taped in place, its a one time deal. I now have a very sticky paper weight. I will end up purchasing the screw mount and using that. I didn't want to put holes in the dash but it looks like that will be the best option if I don't want the mount to fall off. This might hold a dash cam or something like that but definitely not a phone. For the price, be sure of your application before purchasing or better yet, just go with the screw mount. I wish I could exchange it for the screw mount but it is what it is. Maybe I will just drill a couple of holes in this one and screw it to the dash.

Do not use if your car sits out in the scorching sun🚨🚨
Works well! 🚨Do not use if you let your car sit out in the scorching sun! The adhesive will not hold after a couple days of being out in the hot sun. Also the ball base is pretty weak. That's also an area that will break easily! I use a windshield sun protector which has extended it's useabulity.
