The DAB plug connects directly to the corresponding female receptacle on the radio. Then simply connect 12-volt positive and ground to the adaptor. Now your DAB enabled radio can receive DAB/DAB+ transmissions (NOTE: This is an adaptor and not a DAB receiver. Your radio must be capable of receiving DAB).

FM signal good. DAB signal very poor
I had this fitted to a 2008 Honda Civic. Professionally installed along with a new radio. Unfortunately the DAB signal is extremely poor, I wish I hadn't bothered and had bought a separate DAB aerial instead. Will cost too much to get another aerial fitted. So I'm using internet radio from my phone via Android Auto instead of using DAB.

Good quality DAB adapter
This DAB radio adapter is a neat little device, which is very simple to install.Make sure you select the correct connections for your particular radio, which needs to be DAB enabled of course, and select from either the FAKRA or DIN port connections (easy to tell by looking at the photos of each and checking the back of your radio). All the cables and connections feel like they are really good OEM quality and should make this a “fit and forget” installation. The fact that everything is concealed behind the radio unit is a neat solution. The only slightly technical thing is wiring in to the 12v power supply, but this is easily done once the correct wire is identified from the radio wiring label or using a multimeter. I prefer to solder my connections, but this device comes with a crimped connection, which makes it quick and easy. Alternatively you can cut this off and wire straight into the loom connector, but you’ll need the little key to unlock the block pins. You can pick these up very cheaply on Amazon and they make the job a whole lot neater.I don’t live in a great area for DAB signal choice, but I’m looking forward to a drive when I can really enjoy the benefit of this adapter.

Great, I’m now rid of the annoying stick on dab aerial
This is brilliant, didn’t know it existed and works great. I have a newer radio in an old van and it has a separate dab aerial thing stuck to the windscreen which I dislike greatly and the original aerial built into the wing mirror so I used this instead and it works great I now no longer need the sticky aerial which has been binned and the signal seems stronger with it. I get 4 more digital channels anyway which can only be good. The only tricky bit was tapping into the power of the radio with not much room to work with so hopefully the van won’t burn.Very pleased with this. Highly recommended.

Noticeable quality
Decided to add this antenna booster since the 8.4 inch radio in the Passat have Fakra connector for radio antenna. Immediately I noticed stations coming in I could not get before and HD radio was more stable in areas. My guess would be it improved my reception by around 30-40% and I have a antenna on the car 1/2 the height of the stock antenna with better reception now. The fakra plugs on this antenna booster are universal fakra connectors, so Is plug and play. All you do, is plug it in your radio, plug in antenna, then run the blue wire to a positive power source when vehicle is running. Simple and does help reception.
