Nice quality and bell-like tone
The polished brass bell is very nicely made and has a lovely bell-like tone. Like duh, it's a bell CornDawg so it ought to have a bell-like tone. That's true enough, unless you have heard the alloy bell, which gives more of a clank sound than a nice ring. I bought one of each. Wifey has the polished brass bell on her Torker Tristar, I put the alloy bell on my Schwinn Town & Country. When we cruise past people on the paved path, they first hear a lovely "Ringggggggg" from my wife's bell, and a "Clank" from mine. They nudge over for the "Ringggggg" - but they jump clear out of the way for the "Clank". They suit our personalities.

Bells, I had no idea.
It’s a bell right? Ding ding. While at a big box store I stopped into the bicycle department. I dinged a few bells. Well, I tried to. On average, the few bells that were there dinged 50% of the time. I need 100% ding for my urban bicycle setting. 100% ding!My crane bell, she’s a dinger! 100% of the time she dings when I need her to. Ding ding ding, I’m coming through!Seriously though, it’s a sweet bell. Quality is superior to the likes of B#@l and Sc&@#’n. And honestly, cost isn’t much more than the 50% dingers I played with at the Big Box store. All in all, I’d recommend a crane bell. 100% ding, 100% of the time.Ding ding ding ding ding!!!!

Spring broke after 180 days
Bell sounds and looks fantastic but the spring broke after just six months. For the price I would expect them to choose a spring durable enough withstand usage.

Works decently, but broke after a year
It is a decently loud bell. However, it is not durable. Mine broke just about a year after I bought it and I couldn't repair it.

Great sound , but different qualities . (photo)
Beautiful bell with a wonderful clean sound . I had to ask for a replacement since the striker felt 1 week after i bought it.The replacement came in no time at no extra cost . And i discovered 2 things.1. The sound of the second bell was much better than the first one .2. The spring of the second bell is also thinner and softer in actionI must say that i was a little disappointed with the first bell . I had heard this bell in a bike shop and the sound was not the same.Everything changed when i got the replacement , SO i advice you to return your bell if you are not happy with the sound and give it a second chance.

Nice
There has been an unbranded bell just like this on my bicycles since the late 1970s.I bought the Crane Karen bell to put on a vintage bicycle I am restoring and upgrading.I was quite surprised to hear the 40+ year old bell and the new Crane Karen bell have the identical ding sound. I could not tell them apart by the sound.I'm glad to have found the Crane Karen bell.It will really set off my scarlet red 1986 Trek 310 Élance.

Very pleased
Bell arrived today and very happy with it. It's look s little different than the picture, the copper color is lighter and the ringer is more gold than copper but I expected this as other pictures of this bell on the internet look like that. Not sure where they got their picture. All in all very happy, no doubt in my mind that this piece is genuine Crane.
