POWERSTAR 12V 15Ah Champion Generator 9000 7000 Rechargeable Battery

I used this on our Champion generator and installed in Feb 2020. This batter was on a trickle charger that came with the generator since purchase. I have used the battery to start the generator about 6 times since install. This week we had an outage for 3 days. It started my generator fine the first day, but by day two it was struggling and day 3 it was finished. Keep in mind that when my generator is running, it is charging the battery, so charging for 16 hours per day would not allow this battery to start a 10 horse generator after 2 days. My experience with this battery is that it will work fine for the rare occasional start, but if you need to start your engine several times per day, this battery will let you down. It does not have enough reserve or CCC.

Crap. Don't buy. Not even 1 year service out of it, in storage over winter with trickle charger battery dead upon spring time planned use.... Just not worth the trouble.

The diagram on this product shows the length as 5.89”. The specifications at the bottom of the description indicate 7.1” length. I need 5.89”. I guess its my fault that I didn’t read thoroughly. Too bad the conflicting instructions aren’t fixed.

I’ve had the battery for about a year and it works well. This was a replacement for the original that died after I neglected to run the generator after 3 months. Since then I bought a trickle charger that keeps the battery conditioned.

The battery is larger than stated in the discription and therefore unusable in specific locations. Sad, ZI used to rely on Amazon.....that's over they're unreturnable!
