Harmony Gear Sea Passage Aluminum Paddle

Great looking paddle, that would hold up to people that mostly float down a river, but not for hard paddling. The ends are acceptable, a little on the thin side, but would probably hold up fine for the most part. The aluminum shaft is very thin, which may not bend, but may expand at the center section, where the main problem lies. The center section is plastic, thick, but still plastic, and the thin aluminum slides over it. The play is very noticable on hard paddling, and when I started paddling very hard, I heard a crack noise come from it somewhere. I inspected the whole paddle and can't find where the crack noise came from, but it sounded like a plastic crack, and now scares me that it will break out on the water if I paddle hard with it. If you use this paddle for leisurely paddles down a flowing river, you would probably not experience any of this, but I was dissappointed that this was weaker than a $25 Crooked Creek paddle I got from Walmart Marketplace. My old Crooked Creek paddle has thicker aluminum shaft, with an aluminum center section with tight fit, and thicker paddle ends. It weighs slightly more, but very worth it to me.

Very light compared to my old paddle and I feel like I can paddle so much further. Very durable, and makes the days on the water even better.
