Is this an espresso type of coffee?

No, it comes in regular grind or whole bean. The Volcan bean is much stronger than the Cumbre or Colina. You mught be able to grind the Volcan fine enough to make an espresso but I'm nit sure, I'm a straight up coffee drinker.

Juan Valdez is great Coffee

This coffee is rich and full of flavor, and most importantly not too acidic. I know that sounds like a coffee commercial but it really is good coffee. If you are looking to avoid the bitter burnt taste of Starbucks Coffee this is for you. And it is slightly cheaper. (even cheaper at Juan Valdez website)This Coffee is a hit with everyone that has tried it at my house. Give it a try for a change...

Strong is an understatement

Strong is an understatement. I brewed this in a freshly cleaned pot. Brewed as directed. Too strong to drink. More like harsh espresso. The second day I cut back the coffee to 3/4th strength. Better, but still a little too strong. The third day I cut back to 5/8ths the amount of coffee. Strong still, but drinkable. Today I cut back to half. Now that's a good cup of coffee. Now I can have two!
