This enclosure sounds great. If you want a decent amount of bass in a small package; This is for you. You will get deep bass that's still tight and responsive. Rap music will sound deep and boomy. This enclosure will shake your mirrors a little but not enough make them fall off. Rock/Hardcore/Deathcore/Metal etc will still sound tight and accurate. You will be able to hear each individual drum note, even if he's playing fast. It's not going to be as boomy as a port design and it's not going be as tight as a sealed design. But, it's an excellent compromise between the two.AdviceThis sub is rated at 500watts rms @ 2 ohms which would come to about 31.5 volts ac at the amplifier with a 50hz test tone. Set you gains and slowly break your sub in at low volumes. Over time the sub will start to naturally play louder and you will eventually be able to get the full sound potential without damaging your sub. If you want to speed up the break in period, play a 25hz test tone at a LOW volume for a couple hrs. This will get the sub moving without making a bunch of noise while allowing the mechanical bits to loosen up. If you do decide to do this, search google and YouTube for more specifics.Also, It's not worth it to replace the passive sub with another powered one. I tried that and it's not going to sound as good you think. Even with double the power @ 1000watts rms; It's not much louder, you loose SQ and, you loose some low end response. This enclosure just doesn't have enough airspace for 2 powered subs. The chamber's aren't separated so when both subs push out; they create suction in the box that keeps them from moving out as far as they're supposed to. In essence; the subs fight each other like some sort of Chinese finger trap

I hadn't bought a subwoofer for a while, so I wanted to do some research before I bought a new one for my new truck. I found this one on the Kicker website and it seemed like the right one for me. I own a 2016 F150 regular cab, and while the cab is comfortably large enough for me, it doesn't leave a lot of room for subwoofers. This one fit perfectly behind the seat with a little room to spare. I powered it with the Kicker DXA 500 Watt Monoblock Class D Subwoofer Car Audio Amplifier | 43DXA5001, which does this subwoofer great justice. It has nice tight, and buttery smooth bass. And man, is it loud. I love it. There may be better subs out there, but at this price point, you really can't ask for much more. Great sub!

I was skeptical about ordering these product but right after I hook them up to my RE 1000.1 audio amplifier, man they BUMP, I really really like how they sound and they're not even broken in yet made a huge difference between this ones and the old pioneers I had. ( I I listen to a lot of Mexican music like norteño and Banda so I needed an epicenter which I got the PPI brand and pair with my amplifier and the kickers Comp RT make a really really good sound) I love that for the price came with the radiator and and box and they're really shallow they fit perfect on the back seat of that back of my crew cab f 250 2000

*updateafter driving my truck every once and a while I have barely used this sub and it has stopped working again. This time it made a pop noise and started rattling very badly, it will make noise but I don't want to risk more damage. I had a 10" Dual sub from walmart before this one and I never had these problems. This will be the second time the speaker will need to be replaced in probably 5-7 hours of use. Very disappointing that a kicker product paired with a recommended kicker amp is having so many issues. I checked all power and the sub just isn't working anymore*updateGot a Replacement subwoofer very fast and man this new one feels heavier and sounds cleaner + Stronger. I am going through Kickers Break - In procedure and so far flawless. Tons of bass when you combo it with a kicker DXA-500Also thank you for shipping my keys back.... Oops!Unfortunately the subwoofer stopped working after only 25 minutes on a kicker DXA500 ampThe Sub is a 1ohm with a cross over. If I unhook the cross over and hook the sub wires to one side the sub will work but doesn't sound as good as it did.Contacted the seller and Kicker. I will update the rating if the speaker gets replaced. But for $300 its been a huge waist of time and effort...

For the size and price it can't be beat.. it sounds very good.. Has a little issue with carring the really low frequencies but over all it performs very well.

Subwoofer sounds great, nice deep and low bass. My box has started rattling bad, I added some wood screws to the center of the box and it helped for a few days but has started rattling again

I bought two for my 06 dodge ram mega cab....I'm very impressed, I'm running the stock head unit a lc2 line out converter and a boss 3400wat mono amp.... and damn, I haven't even hit 80% of the amps level and it's still sounds amazing, I can rattle stuff inside of my other car in our driveway,, I'm very happy there very clear sounding and hit very nicely,,, my wife is worried our truck is going to fall apart,, definitely recommend,,, if limited on space and still want great sound get it,,,, fits behind sit of our mega cab and still have full function of the reclining,,, and they were very fast on shipping, took 2 days

This sub is amazing! It’s everything you could ever need in a small package. It’s super loud. It can shake my hair without even turning it all the way up. Full volume will make your ears ring so be careful with how much you turn it up.It’s super clean and crisp. Very good audio quality. I had a down firing sub previously and this is a lot more crisp. I was shocked to get this quality for such a low price.
