Osmo - Creative Set - New Version Available (Discontinued By Manufacturer)

I've bought a lot of toys and games for my 6 year old twins. Nothing compares to the fund and educational value of Osmo. My mom bought the genius kits for the kids and we liked them enough that I went on Amazon and purchased the creative kit which includes a white board and markers plus another downloadable game called Monster. The Genius kit comes with 5 games incorporating, drawing, spelling, numbers, tangrams and a physics game. The games are super fun and engaging and they teach kids patience, math, literacy and much more. The creative kit that I purchased has a cute game called Monster that takes what your kid draws and pulls it onto their tablet screen. The giggles and laughter generated from my kids playing with the funny monster were money well spent. I can't say enough about the games and how well they integrate the software seamlessly with my kids tablet making them very easy to use. My kiddos can set the game up without any help from me. I also have to give a shout out to Osmo customer service. Seriously, their customer support is amazing. They are prompt in their responses and go above and beyond to make sure the gaming system is working flawlessly. One of the whiteboards ordered was a just a tiny bit wobbly on the table and I mentioned it to Letitia in customer support and to my surprise, she insisted on replacing the board--how awesome is that? Letitia was so helpful and true to her word, a few days after we emailed our new whiteboard arrived. We appreciate Letitia and OSMO so much for a superior products and world renowned customer support--Go and get one now--you won't be sorry and your kids will learn all kinds of new skills while having a ball!!Kristin in WR GA

My nieces and nephews seem to be enjoying this but I was super embarrassed when I realized it didn't come with the game system! Facepalm, because it DOES SAY THAT on the screen but I had viewed so many Osmo products I didn't realize any of them didn't come with the system and obviously didn't read all the information that closely. My nieces and nephews opened their gift only to find that it did work without the game system that wasn't in it so I immediately logged onto Osmo's website and ordered a $20 game system. They received it and love the product. On top of it all Osmo refunded me the cost of game system voluntarily (I didn't complain, apparently I wasn't the only one who made this error over the holidays.) That was super awesome of them and I really appreciate them reaching out to their customers in such a thoughtful way. Also it was a consolation to me that I didn't just buy a super expensive white board and dry erase markers for my family but that buying it did help purchase one for a classroom. As a homeschooler I love opportunities to minister to classrooms, particularly public school classrooms, and Osmo gave me the opportunity without my even realizing it until we opened the box. Lol! The point is...we have similar values in that sense and I like that.

I bought the Osmo Creative Set for my 6 year old Grandson for Christmas 2016.However, I thought it was a "stand alone" piece of equipment but in reality it required a Start Kit - in all honesty I did not realise this and my son rectified the situation by ordering one and it arrived within a few days after Xmas Day.That aside, the Osmo Creative Set is a complete winner. My Grandson found it easy to adapt to the technology, and has had immense joy in creating his own art that was magically displayed as a story via a big hairy bear!There are multiple learning benefits too for any young learner, ranging from coordination to problem solving, and creative, fun way.As parents and a grandparent we were mesmerized and, of course, wanted to play too!Highly recommend this creative "toy"

Purchased for seven year old daughters birthday and it was a huge hit and absolutely amazing. All you have to do is place gaming system on your iPad and download app and you are ready to go. The markers that come with the item does have to be pressed down in order for the color to release to the marker tips. The set has three different drawing activities to choose from. The monster activity is a huge hit for little kids and being able to see their very own drawings on the screen is mind-blowing for them. In the master piece activity which is our favorite is full of hundreds of pictures to create and you can even upload your very own. Your drawings are also being recorded and at the very end you can watch how you created the drawing in a fast forward style playback. Getting use to tracing a drawing is a bit tricky starting out but once you get started you don't want to stop.

By far my daughter's favorite thing to do with Osmo. She is 6, so the Monster game is very engaging and she has spent a lot of time drawing and watching him drag it into the Ipad. Very cool, and very fun. I have read you can do this without purchasing this particular kit, but it is a nice white board with good markers and a cute package to keep them together. So while not the cheapest way to do it, it works! Only complaint is the orange marker for some reason is so much harder to erase than the other colors, not sure why that is but it really sticks to the board.

The white board used to be built of wood, but likely for cost savings it changed to a metal board in a plastic housing. When our original board got to the point of being unable to fully clean (remnants of marker picked up by camera in games) we sought a replacement board. Unfortunately Osmo does not sell replacement boards only. You need to purchase an entirely new Creative Set. We were not happy about this, but choked down the cost because our child loves playing Osmo games. Unfortunately the replacement received came with a metal board and as we have learned through another purchase the glue on the board can come loose and the sharp edges within (think of opening a tin can) can easily cut a finger as I sadly learned (Osmo was happy to replace defective board). Anyhow, the board is metal an it also easily dents if you have a child that likes to bang things (what child doesn't?). If it was still a wooden board, I would give 5 stars.
