Impressed with value!
I sure would be willing to pay more for this phone. Now as you name it android less smart phone, or OS less smartphone. However this is not a smartphone of any sort but has a touch screen. The only minor downside is that many apps are not made or even considered for Java cellphones yet, but the world's most imprecindile app is there built in: Facebook. And as well has a second browser besides the stock browser: opera mini. What else can I say? Well let's now review my first day ( today ) with this tracfone.Day 1: i missed not being an AT&T costumer anymore but from now on not anymore!1. Safelink transfer process: I was worried that I ruined my safelink life line forever because of my dissatisfaction with my old safelink phone ( Alcatel a205g ) but since I recieved my phone much earlier than anticipated I decided to call custumer service reps for safelink/tracfone and in the first few minutes I was trapped in the automated machine maze however I managed to reach customer service reps who helped me along the way and the process was sort of easy thank goodness. But later on neither my new or old phone worked for an hour so I contacted costumer service again but this time through live chat, now this time I was given instructions to introduce many long and difficult codes until the phone rebooted by itself now hooray my phone was working like normal how relieved I felt. The transfer process becomes hard when you previously had tmobile but goes to the AT&T network and at the same time you want to keep your old number, however the results pay off really good.2. Reception: after the difficult transfer process the reception improved big time, and so the ability to make and recieve calls and text messages and better data network overall. Before the transfer process I used to get the V network most of the time or edge if I was lucky, unless I went out of the city I would get decent 3G. Now I get 3G most of the time or atleast edge in rare cases. After the transfer process I couldn't believe my eyes about this huge improvement.3. Wifi: now I don't have to eat the minutes surfing the web because I can now connect to wifi at home and my iPad when on the go.4. Touch Screen: finally I have something that looks like a smartphone but actually it's not. Screen is fairly responsive. Now surfing the web on the phone becomes more pleasant rather than cumbersome, and makes calling and texting such a breeze now instead of the cumbersome alfanumeric keyboard of my old phone.5. Camera: it's one of the phone's core feature. A phone without a camera just wasn't a life but rather a feeling missing important events of my life. Camera it's not impressive but for a phone at this price point you can't beat the value.6. Bluetooth: now me and mom get to share files seamlessly.7. Battery life: battery life seems to be excelent for now, but I may buy extra batteries just in case.Updates for this review will be coming soon.Day 2:Battery life on it is very impressive1. Battery life: I only charged it once in the in the morning and this phone still has full 3 bars of battery life, the phone charged fast in the morning and with lots of usage using the wifi and browser still has very good battery life.2. Typing: typing can be a be bit difficult since it uses an alfanumeric keypad, however you get the qwerty keyboard on the opera mini browser but since the screen is too small for a full qwerty keyboard so the alfanumeric keypad suits my needs better. By the way giving the impressions of a mini smart phone it's not a smart phone but rather a touchscreen feature phone.3. No main operating system: sounds bad? Well it saves battery life and battery life can last days not hours. By the way operating this phone gives me the impression of using an android smart phone because of all the similarities. However this is completely light weight compared to android or iOS. If it was android then this phone would otherwise not be eligible for safelink wireless government program.4. Camera: I haven't used the camera because I didn't have anything special today to take pictures to.5. Facebook app: Facebook is built in and that's a good thing because I can see my notification and other peoples thought at a glance and respond at a glance. And I can also use the facebook's built in messenger6. Texting: if you prefer typing in vertical than that might be a problem, well you can only text in landscape mode, personally I prefer texting landscape so it's not a problem to me and in addition texting gives you the full qwerty keyboard so you can text faster.

Great little (dumb) phone, but it's useless without Tracfone service - and that can be a nightmare.
5 stars for the phone, but the phone is useless without Tracfone's service, and that drops a star...possibly two, but I'll just drop one for now.Pros: Nice, clean little dumb phone. This is our 4th Tracfone and so far so good! It is just what we need. We can call, text, and wifi (vs 3G) is an appreciated bonus. Very functional (vs. being a sophisticated toy), and has plenty of features to get you by. Normal sized texts (under 160 characters) are just .30 of a unit compared to some that are now using a whole unit. Triple minutes! Yay!Pro that can be a con: They have international calling to most countries for the same amount of units as local calls. There are cheaper services out there for international calls, but it's handy that Tracfone offers it. You call their patch-through number, dial the number you want to connect to, and they patch you through. DISCLOSURE: I tried 9-10 times to call the UK one day and only got a busy signal after entering the number I was trying to reach. (It starts chipping away at your minutes the second you call their patch-through number.) I then decided to try my old international call service and IMMEDIATELY got through. My brother said they were NOT on the phone, so it was definitely Tracfone's connections that were busy, yet it still cost me units for those attempts!! They state up front that you do not/will not get them back....HOWEVER, none of that matters without Tracfone's actual service....Cons: Activation of 2 of our 3 tracfones required a call to customer service. Ironically, we had a really bad connection and the support person acted like it was our phone's fault. NOT!! I called them on my land line and we could barely understand/hear...them. Very garbled and it cut out. It was so bad I couldn't tell you if it was a him or her - not that it matters. Our super-dumb phones activated without a hitch, so I suspect the smarter your phone, the less Tracfone's automated system can handle it. They had to repeat things so many times it just about doubled the time we were on the phone. No excuse for that, Tracfone!!!!! If you lose a phone that has a sim card like this one does, beware!!! They can not suspend your service. They can only transfer your phone number to another phone or close it out altogether. In the meantime, if anybody finds your phone and uses it, kiss your minutes goodbye! Personally, I recommend you get an "extra" tracfone and keep it in a drawer so you don't have any worries. This would be a good phone to do that with, by the way. Tracfone's web site may look like it's pretty much self-serve, but in our experience (with 4 tracfone phones), many features never work (i.e. signing up for family plan). You either have to go to the support forum or try to call for assistance. If you do go to the forum, expect to have to "chat", as they never post answers there. They answer your post with a "Sorry you're having trouble. To resolve your issue, we'll have to take this matter off line." They give you a link to their chat platform. Very strange that they don't post answers - since that is what a forum is!! I believe they must get paid by minute for each chat session or call. Twice we've had 2 issues to work out but they basically cut us off after the first, so we had to start all over for the second issue. In summary, if you want effective, friendly service/support, go elsewhere. If you want a cheap, down and dirty phone/service (and have all the time in the world to spend with customer service) this Tracfone is for you. (ShopCellDeals got it to us very quickly and well-packaged. This is the second phone we've purchased from them. Great seller!)

Best ever phone... customer service is terrible..long wait and then do not handle the problem the first time....
I love this small easy to use phone... I had a very nice larger phone and could never learn how to use it so got this and know everything about it. Cheap to use.. triple minutes, data and text. Have only spent $20 the entire year for minutes and service dates. Awesome. Have it in pink also. Battery stays charged for long time. Has everything a high dollar phone has. UPDATE ON MY REVIEW 12/9/16... After realizing I never rec'd my text or data when I activated this phone I contacted tracfone on 10/17/16.. they tried to add to my phone, but couldn't so they sent me new SIM card to activate. I called to activate the card 12/8/16 because I know how long it takes on the phone when you have to call..., but only had 4 service days left so had no choice.. on line 40 mins said problem fixed.. today not fixed. called talked to Mary problem not fixed.. I bought mins yesterday and days, but did not get text or data.. now supervisor comes on says my phone does not have data option, but the card I rec'd with new phone says I do and so does the description on here.. well was told to call back tomorrow to get my text cause could not do new ticket tonight for text.. told them not gonna call back to handle the problem and get my text and data fixed... as said before LOVE the phone, but the service stinks...
