It should be placed on a floor instead of a wall. And yes all the liquid will sit at the bottom if it is mounted on a wall.

I know it says "no need for installation" but can i install it if I want to?

I suppose you could, but there’s a non-skid felted material on the back.

Can you use these in a car as floor mats? Will they get too hot or explode?

Basically it is an indoor use tile mats for kids and not recommend for car use.
