To what temperature is this insulated? Is this insulated enough for winter temps of 10 degrees F? Thanks.

With these igloo type shelters, I insert an Lectro-Soft Outdoor Heated Pet Bed from Cozy Winters.com (a soft outdoor heating pad which comes in 3 sizes - small is too small, but med or lg works well) which plugs into a nearby outdoor outlet with an outdoor extension cord. They heat barely to just above freezing - otherwise it could bring on a heart attack (human heating pads are far too hot for animals, even on the lowest setting, & they're not made for outdoors) - & combined with a big fat down quilt I stuff in there along with some insulating straw, they do ok. Be sure to make the entrance smaller - just big enough for a cat to enter - to mitigate wind & other animals - & elevate the igloo on cider blocks to make sure moisture/bugs can't enter. Face entrance towards wall away from open area/wind, & shove it under outdoor table if possible for added protection from snow. To make the entrance smaller, I cut out a small corner (to act as the entrance) from a piece of stiff cardboard, then I slip the cardboard inside a plastic garbage bag & wrap it all in duct tape to secure & waterproof it, then I tape it over the entrance with more duct tape so you end up with a solid entrance with a small side cutout. If you buy a flap which comes with the igloo, be sure to cut out a little entrance in one corner of the flap, because many cats, esp ferals, don't get the plastic flap & won't know to push past it. The idea is to seal any openings & make it cozy & dense with bedding on top of the heating pad, which just enough of an entrance to get in and out of. Cozy Winters.com or other places also sell heated dog bowls - if you plug them into an outdoor outlet in a sheltered spot, you can keep water handy for them and at food time, put the cat's bowl directly on top of the water in the heated bowl which will keep it warm and from freezing without you having to clean the heated bowl. Don't be fooled into thinking those igloos are warm in there or anything - it's still very cold - all this is is a thick rigid plastic bowl, basically, set outside - but gives them enough shelter & with the heating pad, blankets & straw just enough warmth to keep from freezing & to survive. It came without screws. What size/type of screw did you use to keep it together. The tabs don't move enough to put through the slots.

Turn the whole thing upside down and sit on it. Use a flathead screwdriver to push the tabs in. I just found 1.5" screws that were lying around the house. Not too thick. Good luck!

Is there already a hole or access for the cord if one wants to put in a heated pad?

You would have to run the cord through the door opening that the cat comes thru. If you do that, I would suggest running heavy outside cord and duct tape it to the side or base of the condo so it does not get moved around. Please keep in mind that cats outside get cold and wet, straw works as a better insulator than blankets, even heated ones. I have been caring for feral cats for almost 18 years and they do very well if you pack the house with straw, they will push it around and flatten it the way they want it. Straw wicks the moisture off of them and keeps them warm too. Good luck.
