2017 Model GooBang Doo Android 6.0 TV Box, ABOX Android TV Box Amlogic S905X 64 Bits and True 4K Playing

First off let me say as a box programmer I have review and purchased more than 40 boxes, from Low end - to High in most cases there is generally always something I like about a box but, most of the time more often than not their are things I find that I do not like. I must say this box was a super surprise!My first surprise was that they actually chose to install working aaddons, as opposed to The Standard TV add-on software, which do not provide very good content to new users and also contain malicious software so I must commend them for their excellent choice. 2 choosing to go with Android .6 was an absolute thrill to see a lot of box manufacturers are calling their boxes the 2017 box but they are basing that on the simple fact that they have updated the version of Kodi included on the box anyone can update Kodi 3 choosing to add the new HDMI cable in order to provide true 4K playback was another masterpiece.4 whoever made the decision to go with a learning remote rather than the standard stock atypical remote that you normally find with low to medium Price Boxes was also a fantastic decision.One of the things that I often find disappointing in the small boxes is the fact that they contain too much heat and I see this as a potential problem for the processor and other circuitry however I must say I ran this box for 10 days in a row without stopping it or turning it off and yet it Still Remained almost as cool as my 300 dollar box.I have tested other boxes that were the same size and within a matter of an hour or two these boxes these boxes became so hot that I unplug them for their sake and mine coodles for this one.I can be long-winded about things that I am passionate about so let me wrap this up by saying this is an excellent product for anyone just entering the kodi, Arena or for anyone who wants a 2nd or 3rd box, maybe for a spare bedroom or office I believe that if these find folks continue in the direction that they are going they could overtake the low to medium box Arena congratulations on a job well done keep up the Fantastic workTony. I just received the box and set it up. I was a little worried because of a few reviews I read at first. I suppose I should state what I bought it for first and then How it met my needs.This is my first box. I have gotten a new tv and I wanted to trick it out a bit. I got it Primarily to play movies and tv shows I have saved on my computer. There are many that are not on tv or streaming sites In any way and I wanted to be able to watch them easily. I am marginally interested in watching Netflix or YouTube on the tv but not a big deal.the unit has 8gb of storage on the device, a memory slot that takes up to 32gb and 2 usb ports that take up to 1 tb hd. i took a 150gb hd I had and started dropping several movies and tv shows that were in different formats to test it. The device was able to play them all fine. I do suggest you use kodi in that the interface is much easier to use. the quality was good for what ever the video was recorded as.I am leaving the 5 stars because it does what I bought it for very well.However, i do wish the unit did have the newest version of kodi on it and better documentation on upgrading the software and running updates. Also I agreed the wifi is a bit weak. I would suggest a special app to run when you first getting the device that will setup the unit and run all updates to make it easier on the user. My mom is drooling in envy and vowing to get one too.

I needed a media player to replace my aging PS3, mostly I need it to watch videos, not to play games. In a day and age were so much video is coming out in 4k the PS3 was just not cutting it anymore, in addition to other short comings, such as no MKV support, audio restrictions on perceived pirated video and USB limitation to FAT formatted hard drives.I was not familiar with Android video boxes at all, I had gotten a XBOX One and a PS4 to replace the PS3 but booth sucked as video players. So I ordered the ABOX without knowing much about it excepted for the research I made online.I was pleasantly surprised, it does the job and does it well. It plays 4K video without a glitch. It does play MKV files but just like other video players it does not play the audio on certain types of MKV files.It also plays video from USB hard drives in exFAT and NTFS, what a bonus! The USB is USB 2 but it reads files in USB 3 hard drives and up to 2 Terabytes hard drives.The remote is basic and I wish it was Bluetooth and had a fast forward and rewind button, no problem, I was able to find one online with a keyboard in the back that works great with the ABOX.Overall I’m very pleased with the performance, and it’s such a tiny box without noisy fans running.

An absolutely horrible purchase. Even at the lower cost this is an absolute waste of money. The remote and box themselves are very basic, the remote feels thin and cheap. Now the real meat...The user interface for navigating apps, etc is just horrible....its very basic and looks like it was done by a freshmen programming class.There is almost no memory, a minimum of about 70% of the memory is used even when you're doing nothing, causing constant stutters and long pauses.The processor and memory are barely enough to run video. When watching 1080p movies you get pauses and stutters occasionally and if you try try to interact you get long hesitations in between button pushes to the point you're not sure the device is even working anymore.One of the worst things is that it does not adjust resolution at all, apps run off your screen leaving menus unaccessible and sentences that cant be read.The only saving grace this thing has is it has a usb port to plug an older external drive into.

Replaced our old box that couldn't handle the 2017 Kodi update. Worked right out of the box and most of our favorite add ons were already loaded. Awesome!

I'm pleased with my purchase

I think its a fantastic android box for the price. It runs my kodi builds with no problem and still has plenty of space for additional apps if I wanted.

Would have given this zero stars if I could have. A total waste of my money. It never worked out of the box and a year later we are still trying to get it to work.

Pulled the trigger and purchased this last year. Worked good for two months then constant crashing. It's basically unusable for me. Of tried many things but it just doesn't work.

I was very disappointed when I received my items. I ordered 2 for a friend and both of them are faulty. I’m not able to program anything.
