Works ok
When we got 10 inches of snow on my roof i was throwing the on it but the kept rolling off so I needed to use a ladder to put them into the snow in the valley and downspouts. They did work and it opened my downspout

Works well if you can get them in place
Like other reviews mentioned it can be hard to get these in place. We have some high roof lines and though I am accurate, they don’t always stick. When they did they workers great. I found it was easier to put them in some problem spots before the snow came. There were some that were broken and powder at the bottom of the bucket but nothing I over the top or that I didn’t expect. There just aren’t a lot of other alternatives that I’ve found

Good roof melt
I have a high roof line and get lots of snow in Colorado. I use a wood stove in the Winter and get some thick ice dams on the edges of the roof line. I can't get up there to do anything about them so I get this product. I put them into Womens knee high stockings...tie them off with a quick knot the throw them up on to the roof close to the gutter area.... It may take a couple of times to get them positioned correctly but I can get it done. This has been the easiest solution for me to deal with the ice dams when no one wants to climb up there to clear the snow.

Works good
For the first time in my life, I had ice dams this winter, but only on a sunroom addition, which added two roof valleys, near two skylights (snow melts here before the bulk roof), and two other skylights.Seems a good product as such. Felt like a hockey puck. I tossed one tablet in each valley, one next to the valley, and one below each skylight. And just for fun, a couple more onto my second story (no visual ice dam, but maybe it will keep the downspouts clear). Seemed to take care of the problem--I put a few tablets in a ziplock bag, and sold the rest of the bucket to a neighbor. But the drips came back in a couple days. I don't recall the instructions saying anything about how long it lasts: a day? a week? a month? Is it possible that the product did its melting thing, got washed away in a day or so, allowing the hole to refreeze, and direct water back into my sunroom? I ended up getting out a ladder, and saw the puddle between a skylight and the ice-dam. I put two of my last last-remaining tablets into the puddle, one on the left side, and one on the right. In five minutes, I had water dripping quickly into the gutters below the ice-dam, lasting about five minutes, thus proving I had opened up a drain and drained the puddle. I then attacked below the other skylights and roof valleys. Since most tablets went to a neighbor, I had to simulate more by placing handfuls of CaCl pellets using a ladder. Do I need to repeat every second day as the snow and ice melts? As far as I can tell, yes, unless I want water inside my sunroom again. At least in wacky winters like this one. Next winter, I will keep a full bucket on hand!

Works ok
The pellets in bottom of pail were pulverized/badly broken up. Used the chunks/powder as a sprinkle salt, as with all discs, they have a tendency to 'roll' off the roof-ladder and specifically placing them helps.

Roof Melt works well!
Roof melt works well, but it is not always easy to place it exactly where you want it. Also pieces have been broken during shipping. We did like well enough to place a second order!

Shipping can damage them
Seemed to help melt ice damns. Ordered twice and sent it one back as most of the pellets were dust in one.

Roof Melt Tablets
They do work if you can get them up on the roof and have them stay there. Just tossing them up is not the best way as they roll off and you have to try again and again until they stay. My biggest complaint is that MOST of the tablets were broken and powdered down so you do not get 60 tablets, maybe 30 - 40 whole tablets the rest is powder and small broken pieces.
