Good Fountain
We have had 2 of these fountains for just shy of a year and they are both still working great! The stainless steel top part's rim very quickly started looking scratched or like something was peeling off. Neither is true though. I tried everything to get it clean, but nothing will. It does not effect the fountain's use however and the cat doesn't drink from that part, so I can only say that it's a con, if you want it to be perfect. The inside and outside of the bottom where the water is held and the flat part where the cat drinks is pristine and as shiny as the day we got it.When you are cleaning the motor, take the entire thing apart. The side where the little door opens is the side that pops off. I use a sharp knife to stick down in each side to pry it up a bit to pop it off. Then I use the circle end of the brush to hook the impeller the take it out and clean it good. The little brush fits into every single part of the motor and entire unit. If your brush doesn't fit into the motor, it isn't taken apart fully.Be sure to clean your fountain well. It gets slimy in the plastic parts especially and no one wants their cat drinking water that slime is!If you clean it and keep it full enough not to burn your motor out, this will be a decent fountain for you.I have had many cat fountains. This one is by far the easiest to clean and put back together quickly. Also, it isn't noisy unless you don't have the parts clicked in or tightened correctly or sometimes when the water gets low. That being said, check the water often. Ours has gotten low many times without any warning. All in all, it does what it's supposed to and our cats love it.

Great fountain - be sure to clean the pump!
**First off, I just wanted to address a problem others seem to be having with the pump. I too thought the pump had just stopped working, but it actually just needs cleaning/rinsing out. The small wheel on the inside will not operate the pump if there’s a build up of fur or mildew/something else in there, so remove it carefully and give a strong rinse around the pump. Once I did this the pump immediately started working again.**I love this fountain, and so do my cats. What impressed me is how quiet it is. It’s not noticeable, compared to other fountains we’ve used. As the water level drops to almost empty, it will start to make a churning noise, so it gives you notice to refill it. Try to refill immediately so you don’t ruin the pump.I noticed when cleaning it, there’s no build up of any mildew in the main part of the fountain, due to it being stainless steel, which is great. It is a pain to take it all apart for cleaning though. I usually drop the power cord down my top to avoid it getting wet. The foam that wraps around the pump gets a build up of fur each time. I find it’s best to rinse it under the tap and pull away the fur with your fingers as the fur really gets caught in it. I appreciate the long cord, but since I put it up against a wall I find myself having to tie the cord because of the length. As I said, my cats love it. The blue light is also nice touch. It’s subtle and not overpowering at night.Fountains always encourage cats to drink more. I find myself refilling this more often.Would definitely recommend this!

Well designed!
Our cat loves it & I have yet to find anything I don’t like! I would like to see them develop a reservoir system so I could make a lot of water available on an as needed basis. Otherwise it’s perfect. We went through SO many Drinkwell fountains until I found this beauty! It’s exactly what I was looking for. Easy to clean & sturdy stainless steel. Holds a fair amount of water, yet it’s a small enough size for our space. Doesn’t splash all over, & there are water flow options! You can see the damage to my wood moldings from the last one we had in the picture. Very few plastic parts here, & I’m glad of it! I got very tired of the plastic cracking, & all the hard to disassemble & reassemble parts that needed cleaning in the Drinkwell brand pet fountains & their only stainless steel option was HUGE! This fountain is so simple, & it came with a brush for cleaning! Even the cord to the fully submersible pump is easily unattached for cleaning, & it’s a decent length too giving you more flexibility if your outlet isn’t as close as you’d like. We’ve only had this a short time so I can’t speak to the pump’s longevity, but it is so quiet. The light is such a great bonus! My cat & I can easily see it at night without overwhelming brightness. I’m seriously impressed with this product. I did a lot of looking for a long time before I found this fountain, & I do not regret it. Worth the wait.

Dissappointing. Stopped working after 2 days
Hello!UPDATE: I received a brand new pump from the company after reaching out about my issue. The fountain is working now! Also, the customer service was fantastic. They continued to reach out to check in on the status of the issue even if I hadn't emailed them back (life's been crazy). I am a happy customer once again.I was really excited to use this product. The reviews were good. I received this item on Thur 12/15/22 and plugged it in. It started working great! By the morning of Sat 12/17/22 it had completely stopped working. I tried multiple outlets and different source blocks with the USB cord and nothing worked. I am not sure if there is anything to trouble shoot, but at this point I am pretty frustrated. Very disappointing.

Pros and Cons
There's some significant good and bad here, first off the plug wire runs into the basin itself, and you have to remove the pump, and some plastic pieces in order to fully clean the unit. This is more than a bit of a pain, and the plastic bits that hold the cord in place are fragile and don't remove easily, making me fear they'll be easily broken. The plug itself is also an awkward, oversized USB charger/wall wart that feels a lot more obtrusive than necessary for something like this. The USB-into-wall-plug setup also makes it too easy for cats to dislodge. The other big downside is that the filter is a plastic plate that is already discolored (started clear, turned white) after just two weeks of use. One of the reasons I bought this was the sanitary quality of stainless steel over a plastic fountain, so disappointing that it isn't all stainless. (The flower spout on top is also plastic, but I knew that from pictures going in.) Also struggling to find a source for the replacement filters themselves, which is worrisome. When I first put this in, it was much, much louder than the cat fountain it replaced and I was actually planning to return it and then, for whatever reason, it stopped being loud (I did nothing) and has worked quite quietly ever since. Weird. The good is that it is now quiet, that the cats like it, and that most of it is stainless steel. Unlike a lot of other fountains there's not much of a water well, which is fine for my cats who like to drink as it drips, but if yours is a lapper, this could be an issue.
