The must have cooler accessory!
Bought this to install on my hard sided RTIC 45 cooler. I installed 2 lights with the included screws, took about 5 minutes while making sure to pre-drill the screw holes. For these lights, I didn't use an adhesive backer or adhesive to pre-fill the screw holes like I did with my bottle opener since these could break more easily over time than a steel bottle opener. Once installed, these lights make this cooler look bada$$ and have been super helpful camping so far, plus everyone comments on them when they see them.As far as function goes, they work perfectly every time, it's nice to also have an "off" switch so they don't come on while traveling to save battery. They 2 standard double AA, the running time on 2 batteries would last several weekend trips of high usage.I highly recommend these lights, exactly what I was looking for. My only critique would be to make these in smaller form factor since led's these days can fit into a pretty small area. I say this because if the cooler is plump full, the lights when mounted could be smashed against your ice/items and get damaged over time as they're about 1.5 inches thick when installed, it's just something to be aware of, which is also why I didn't use adhesives when installing these.

Every cooler needs one!
This thing is AWESOME!! Finally a way to find what I'm looking for in the dark! Got it to put on our RTIC cooler. It does come with screws to attach it to the lid but because we have such an expensive cooler, I didn't want to go putting holes in it, so we used the Command Velcro strips to attach it and that worked perfectly. It works exactly as described. Turns on when the cooler opens, and off when it closes. There is also a switch to keep it off at all times when your not using it. Great, great product!

Used it as a backup light on the buggy
I am not a fan of drilling into my cooler but this light is very nice on the late night buggy rides. I have a crew ranger and got in a bind on the trail, the cooler was in the bed so i opened the lid and had just enough light to miss a stump. Not recommended for that use but it shows that there is more than enough light to see your way around the ice.

Find your drink in the dark!
Can you live without this? Yes. Should you? No!This was the most useful thing out car camping in the total darkness. Worked like a charm, impressed the masses, no more trying to hold up a can or package to try to read what it is by firelight (or remember my flashlight *all* the way over to the cooler).I used double sided tape and hook/loop strips to attach it to the inside of the cooler lid (A - I didn't want to screw something into my lid, B - I wanted it to come off easily for hosing out the cooler).Much recommend!

Nice bright light!
Just want I needed for my 100 qt. Coleman Xtreme Marine. It was easy to install. I used a piece of tape to hold it in place while I mounted it. The 2 double A batteries were easy to install by opening the little red latch. The light is nice and bright. The light turns on when you open the lid. It also has a switch to turn it off when not in use. I can’t wait for my next camping trip!

Exactly what I was looking for
Works great and is very bright.Definitely not waterproof as there are no seals on the battery compartment, but it is not advertised as such. Just be aware if you drive around with a cooler full of melted ice/ water. The red and white version is the newer model; the blue and white one is older and if you can find that is more expensive so get this one instead.

it failed at these switches it appears to have 2 they almost look like rectifiers. I paid 15 bucks that's less than ...
Lasted about 9 months. Should have probably taken apart and used an anti oxidant compound on the moving parts. When it finally quit I opened it up disassembled it and figured the light out. It workes on some really small Mercury switches which is what I expected. It didn't fail at the battery contacts, it failed at these switches it appears to have 2 they almost look like rectifiers. I paid 15 bucks that's less than 2$ a month I use this cooler everyday, so I'm not too disapointed but when you open it up you find it's got no insulation from moisture. Even if I had sealed it with silicone there is no way it would last over a y

Camping must
If you have coolers and don't have this product, do yourself a favor and pick yourself up one for each of your coolers, saves you from searching for things in the dark or having to look for a flashlight every time you get into the cooler.
