These are changing my life
I've been battling insomnia for a few months now after having my first child (thanks, hormones), and one thing that motherhood has brought on was a decent bout of anxiety at bedtime and racing thoughts when I woke up in the middle of the night. Nothing, NOTHING was working, even though I was taking a myriad of different vitamins, medicines, listening to certain meditations, NOTHING. Then, to make matters worse, my husband's snoring was ramping up and would also catch me right as I was about to drift back to sleep. Ear plugs wouldn't drown out the sound of his snoring, and they were extremely painful to wear night after night for 3-4 months. I needed a solution that would drown out my husband's noise and help suppress my racing mind without being too bulky or disruptive over night.Enter SleepPhones. I had done a very quick search one ultra-groggy morning for noise canceling headphones for sleep, and this was the first thing that popped up. I ordered it immediately and it arrived the next day. That night, I slept very, very soundly for the first time in months. The headphones were lighter and simpler than I really expected, but that didn't keep them from doing their job. I love the design - the headphones can be shifted inside the headband with great ease, and the cable is just about the right length. Won't lie, wish it were maybe a foot longer, but I'm not one who rolls around in bed so it's not caused any major issue yet. I've just pulled my iPhone off the bedside table once or twice when I sit up, but that's it.These SleepPhones have been phenomenal to use with two of my favorite sleep apps for my iPhone (Noisli, Brainwave 32 Binaural Programs). For extra help with sleeping, I wear an eye mask over the headband (which I wear over my eyes anyway), and the slight added pressure of the eye mask helps keep the headphones snugly over my ears for extra noise cancellation. I'm sleeping so, so, so much better this past week of having these headphones than I have since my son was born 8 months ago.I cannot recommend this product enough if you're struggling with racing thoughts or a spouse that snores. Those two apps and these headphones have helped keep those racing thoughts out and have also helped mute any distracting outside noise. You can't tell when you first put the headphones on that they're going to work as well as they do, but when you connect them to a white noise machine or app on your phone, they really shine.Oh, and some people said weirdness about sizing. Medium worked fine for me! Please give these a shot if you want uninterrupted, delightful sleep. These headphones are phenomenal!

Great for snorers
I apparently snore pretty heavily (though of course I can't hear it). My partner complains about it, so we would rarely share a bed when it came time to sleep, because he just couldn't do it with me snoring away next to him. This product actually changes all that! He plugs it into a little MP3 players at night. He says that it's enough to mask my snoring and let him actually get a good night's sleep. He plays music or TV show audio, but you might also get an MP3 of white noise (ocean, storm, rain, etc) and just leave it looping. Whatever works. We've tried a TV in the past, but that keeps ME awake. We always knew that some kind of headphone system would probably work, but didn't know a product like this existed. He reports that it's comfortable to sleep in, and at least for him it doesn't move around too much. If I am right next to him, I can hear the audio, but for the most part I don't hear a thing. It's no louder I guess than regular earphones would be.We use it with an older SANSA Clip mp3 player. 4gb. Its battery life is fantastic-- can generally play 2 nights in a row, all night, w/o needing to be recharged. I'm sure a phone would work fine too, but the cheap MP3 player is better for us because (1) it's lighter & smaller, and (2) it's cheap, so if it breaks it isn't going to be any real problem.

These really are great, they seem a little over-priced, but they're probably worth it.
My wife initially saw these on Buzzfeed, or maybe Pinterest close to a year ago, and really wanted a pair. I thought they seemed a little over-priced for some headphones in a fleece headband, but bought her a purple pair all the same. She thought they were fantastic, and has used them regularly since then for watching things on her phone at night when she has trouble sleeping.A couple months ago, I decided that I really would like to start listening to more audio-books at night, and since I already have a very nice (and rather expensive) pair of earbuds I really was determined to just stick with those. I tend to sleep on my side though, and I could just not quite find a comfortable way to fold a pillow to accommodate my normally comfortable earbuds. After a couple weeks, I grudgingly decided to buy a pair of SleepPhones for myself, and I have to admit that I really like them. The sound quality is surprisingly good, much better than I expected. The audio obviously isn't what you'd get from some high end earbuds, and certainly doesn't have some crazy, music-warping bass boost, but that's not really the point of these. They're soft, and for something that you listen to through polar fleece, they offer a remarkable amount of fidelity, and aren't tinny at all. The headphones in general, seem to be of a very good quality. The cord is a lot sturdier than a most small headphones so it seems like you won't break them if you fall asleep wearing them and they get an unexpected tug. The cord also has a nice soft finish which keeps it from feeling clammy and weird against your skin like when you're wearing most headphones in bed... I'm assuming that's a common issue, maybe it's just me... All the same, it's a detail I appreciate about the SleepPhones.I actually convinced myself to change the title of this review as I was writing it. It initially read, "These really are great, if a little over-priced." Granted, I still cringe a little every time I buy another pair of these for somebody, because they just seem so simple, but the people always love them. And while my initial thought is always, "I could totally just disassemble some headphones and sew them into a tiny piece of polar fleece myself..." The reality is that I almost certainly will never get around to doing that, and I'm fairly certain that finding a pair of tiny speakers that are really low profile, yet decent sounding and fairly durable, with a nice feeling, sturdy cord, would end up taking way too much time, and probably wouldn't save me nearly enough money to be worth it.So, yeah, the price seems a little silly, since these kind of look like a craft project, but they really are well made with some good quality components, and they really do make listening to headphones in bed a much better experience.
