This is the best quality and most practical adjustable wrench out there! I was thinking of getting a replacement for my cheap 15" and was looking at Channellock, Bahco and Gedore, and then somebody told me about Lobster. It took me a while to get some information on them because most write ups are in Japanese, but after comparing some specs I placed the order, and I'm super glad I did!The Lobster UM49X is just 300mm long with a 49mm jaw capacity. This is 1mm greater jaw capacity than my old 15"/380mm wrench. The Channellock 815 15" only has a 43mm jaw capacity. To allow for the wider jaw capacity it has a minimum jaw capacity of 12mm, so it doesn't close completely. But who uses a 12" wrench on tiny bolts anyway?The adjustment on this wrench is super fine and smooth, with almost no play. The jaws have a sharp taper so you can work in tighter spaces, and the jaw width is much less than others, yet this tool feels very sturdy.I have some Channellock tools and I am familiar with the quality. The Lobster is not inferior in any way. I am very happy I heard about these, and I will be buying more as my other tools fail.

Using this to hold my R8-ER32/ER40 collet for my milling machine. Makes changing the collets a lot easier. Since my mill doesn't have a spindle stop/brake/lock on it. I was using the spine wrench to hold the spindle shaft (at the top of the mill head) but that presented issues (distance between wrenches sub-optimal). Picked this wrench up and using it for either collet holder that I now own. Makes changing end mills/collets a lot easier.Hard to go wrong with the Lobster brand wrenches from Japan as well.

This wrench has it all. Heavy duty lightweight construction with an ultra wide capacity that holds on tight. Once I set it on what I'm tightening or loosening it holds beautifully while rarely needing a reset.I use mine as a Journeyman Plumber and I'm always amazed at how well it performs. All my fellow tradesmen are highly impressed with this brand.

Top quality adjustable wrench. Very light weight, precision jaws and screw, excellent finish, grip fasteners securely...BUT and this is a big but, they do not close all the way. I noticed this prior to purchasing the wrench, but I have to say it has significantly reduced the usefulness of these compared to regular design adjustable wrenches. In specialized situations where all fasters are guaranteed to be larger than the minimum jaw opening, where light weight is a necessity or where you need absolute maximum grip they work great, otherwise I don't think they present enough advantage over a regular adjustable wrench.
