An Excellent Piece of Gear for Unlocking Your Inner Turntablist
I've owned several mixers over the past 20 years from the low-end swap shop "no-name" mixers up to the top of the line Vestax and Rane series, and I can say that the DJTECH DIF1S is truly an excellent piece of gear. First and foremost, you need to understand that this mixer is not meant for the club or wedding DJ, but rather for the turntablist or anybody that specializes in the language of 'scratching'. If scratching is your thing and you don't want to shell out a bunch of cash, then I STRONGLY suggest this mixer. I hate the fact that whenever a company makes an affordable product, it's usually referenced with terms such as "entry level" or "budget", however I can assure you that's not the case here. Truth be told, I had never heard of this company, however when I saw that Thud Rumble was selling this same mixer (albeit branded with the Thud Rumble logo), it immediately grabbed my interest and after doing my research, I made the purchase. Several months later, I can assure you that I made a very sound investment! Here's what you get:* A rock-solid (built like a tank) 2 channel battle mixer with 3 EQs on each channel* Super smooth up and downs* Very solid knobs...nothing loose or flimsy* A crazy tight crossfader powered by the Mini InnoFader which includes a fully adjustable contour slope* A very simple/minimalistic layout which provides easy access to all of the faders, knobs, and cue buttons* Selectable PFL or Master for the meters* A 1/4" and 3.5" headphone jack* No "transform" switches or buttons. I've always hated these and thought they were cheesy and gimmicky!* No wall-wart! That's right...this has a proper AC plug!In short, there's nothing about this mixer that I don't like, and for less than $200, you can't go wrong! One feature that I haven't tinkered with yet is the switchable DVS/Phono input, but the way I see it, if I need to switch from timecode to vinyl, I'll just do it within Traktor. The bottom line; don't think of this as a an entry level or budget mixer, but rather as an awesome and affordable piece of gear!

Great entry level battle mixer but not ideal for every DJ.
A great entry level battle mixer. The price point is attractive. The mixer is easy to use, has 3 band EQ-ing, and buttery mini-Innofaders. I also like that it has dual sized headphone inputs. The slope adjustment is a lil wonky, and the up faders are not reversible. Also the mini-Innofaders are not as nice as the original Innofader (IMO). There is a slight bit of resistance (you can't breathe on the fader and have it move). The faders feel like there is an initial break-in period. The cut-in on the fader doesn't appear to be adjustable either. You can swap out for an original Innofader -- which is what I will do as soon as I burn through this mini. My last "gripe" would be the inputs/outputs -- in that this only has RCA leads. There are no balanced XLR/TRS outputs on this mixer. Not a deal breaker but not ideal for every situation.All-in-all, I would definitely recommend this to a DJ looking for a dope budget battle mixer.

DJ tech mixer
Worked beautiful for about 9 days after that the fader started bleeding, got a refund which was very quick to refund my money.

Wrong item shipped
My reason for a 2 star rating, is not for the item itself, but rather a European model shipped to me in the states, with the round pillar-type AC plug, and presumably calibrated to 50Hz AC. I never got to try it out.

Can't be beat for $200
I was looking to replace my Gemini scratch-master from the 90's. What I wanted was a pretty basic mixer with a short list of features. It had to have a cross-fader curve adjustment, a reversible cross-fader would be nice, and phono jacks that can be switched to line. Also, since the cross-fader always takes the most abuse on a mixer (if you scratch a lot), a good quality and replaceable cross-fader would be ideal. My budget was $300 max but I was more comfortable in the $150 to $200 range as I am just getting back into DJing from a long 10+ year break in the action. I did some pretty extensive research looking at the cheap $80 Stanton and Numarks, to a Denon costing $220, a Pioneer costing $300, even considered a Vestax at $400 (can't go wrong with this one). None of them wowed me enough to pull the plug and none met everyone of my needs. Then I came across a forum mentioning the DIF 1S with nothing but good things to say. I researched it a bunch and some key things sold me almost instantly. 1. It has a cross-fader curve dial (not just an on/off switch) so I can fine tune the fader curve and it's reversible. 2. The cross-fader is an innoFader! The fader alone costs about $75. 3. Not only are the phono jacks switchable to line, but this mixer has dedicated jacks for my Serato SL3. This means I can switch from DVS to regular vinyl through a toggle on the mixer. If I want to mix with strictly vinyl (which I do often) I don't have to have my laptop up and running. 4. Price. Hard to believe it's only $200.As for performance thus far, the DIF 1S is built very well. It's an all metal housing and everything feels like quality. The cross-fader is amazingly smooth and loose. The sound output is fantastic and it meets pretty much all my needs for a mixer. If it had a separate aux input, it would be perfect. So if you like to DJ with a combination of DVS and real vinyl, you like to scratch but also mix and blend, and don't want to break the bank on a mixer, stop looking and buy this now. After the research I did, for me this is the best mixer out there for under $300 or maybe even $400. Time will reveal it's true quality but thus far, I have pretty high hopes.
