Hunter 44 inch ceiling fan - slight lapse of quality control
My wife and I purchased this ceiling fan to replace our aged bedroom ceiling fan that, after many years of faithful service developed a squeaky bearing. I installed the Hunter 44 inch replacement fan myself and discovered that the lamps would not work but the fan motor ran just fine. After tracing the wiring and performing a continuity check on the switches and lamp sockets I discovered that when the 'light kit' section was assembled at the factory some knucklehead forgot to remove the insulation from the white wire when they attached the crimp-connector on the wire that connects to the plug on the light kit.I fixed the problem and the lamps worked fine. This is a beautiful fan, it is very quiet, more so than our old fan.I would have gladly awarded this fan 5 stars which it deserves were it not for the oversight at the factory.

Put this in an upstairs bedroom (10 x 12) and it is the perfect size. Added the Hunter remote and not only does it work perfectly, but really cools the air in an upstairs bedroom that doesn't get enough air circulation from an aging CH/CA system. The convenience of the remote is worth the extra money and with the remote mounted on the wall, I can turn on the light and fan as soon as I enter the room. Very happy with this decision and wish I had done it long ago. Whisper quiet yet adds just enough noise to the room to block out some of the early morning traffic and activity of neighbors going to work.

Disappointed
I am disappointed by a couple of things with this fan. I wanted a bright, long lasting light so I asked the question about replacing the provided bulbs with LED candelabra bulbs and was told I could. Well, I cannot. The LED bulbs are the correct base size but they're too long to fit under the shade. Another thing I really don't like is that in order to change the bulbs, you have to undo a lot more than I'd like to. The light also casts more light on the ceiling than down into the room. On the plus side, it's very quiet and didn't need any balancing adjustment at all.

FANtastic Fan!
What can I say? I'm a fan of this fan! This fan is the same model number and matches the description of a Hunter fan at Home Depot. Only difference? Home Depot takes a week or longer to deliver, but with Amazon Prime, I ordered the fan Thursday, received it Saturday, and by Saturday night the room was cool like Miles Davis.Assembly was straightforward, with a complete set of easy to follow instructions. This fan does not come with a remote, but one can be purchased separately. I would prefer "normal" light bulbs that can be more cheaply swapped out for LEDs.The fan has been up for over a month without incident and remains quiet and stable in operation.

Nice fan
This fan is mounted above our bed on a cathedral ceiling. It is super quiet and moves enough air over us on low speed, that we sleep very comforably even when nights are hot and sticky. The light kit is unobtrusive and throws off plenty of light to generally illuminate the bedroom. Don't believe the "5 min Fan" stuff unless you are installing these on a daily basis. For a homeowner replacing fans every 10-20 years , it takes about an hour and a half. The strength of the fittings to the ceiling are better than the older fans. It is quite solid on the ceiling.

Light kit trouble after 14 months
Easy to install, quiet and good looking but lights started to fail less than 14 months after purchasing. Because both bulbs went out at the same we didn't think it was a matter of the bulbs themselves needing to be replaced but we tried that fix first anyway. Sure enough, that wasn't it. Called cust serv they said more than likely the wire harness had to be replaced, we ordered it online from the company ($15) and that did it. We've had other Hunter fans that worked great for years, this one was a bit of a dud.

Quiet!
Great fan. It's a simple design, which works in our craftsman home. And love how quiet this fan is! We purposely bought a fan on the large side for the size of the room. That allows us to run it on low speed and still get enough circulation, The motor noise is nearly silent - practically imperceptible - on the low setting. And even on the high setting it is pretty quiet. Also, in the winter we run the fan on reverse - which helps distribute the heat without blowing air at us.

Hands down the best fan ever!
We just purchased 5 ceiling fans for our new home. 2 were Hunter Brand and 3 were "other". I wish I had known then what I know now - that Hunter makes the best ceiling fans! The 5 minute installation ones are so easy that even we, with no experience, could do it! The quality is noticeably better and I have every reason to believe that the dust resistant nano technology lives up to the hype. (It's too soon to tell). All this, plus a great Amazon price and free shipping - why shop anywhere else?

Fantastic Fan
This is a quiet fan with multiple speeds which keeps my master bedroom nice and cool on warm nights. It is very elegant in appearance and adds to the decor of the room. The electrician who installed it had no issues in doing so and I have had no problems with it in the 5 months it has been in regular use. My only criticism is the proprietary LED bulbs which I will someday have to re-order from the manufacturer.

NO NOISE AT ALL
Saw and heard one in a Cambria, CA B&B. No noise at all. Bought one when I had to replace my old ceiling fan. Perfect, no noise at all and enough wind for a 14X10 feet room. Note: if you use a dimer it must be at max; if dim down you will ear a wing wing sound coming from the fan. Dimer for the light NOT FOR THE FAN. Absolutely love it, highly recommended.Update: finally I got rid of the dimer, installed a on-off switch. AND REALLY NO NOISE AT ALL.

Good budget ceiling fan - bought and installed 2
Bought two of these on sale. The actual ceiling fans were really easy to install. The prep work to install the fans was another story. Climbing in attic with blown insulation to install ceiling fan rated jb's - not fun.otherwise not much to say. 3 speeds on fan - two directions. bulbs were incandescent. one ceiling fan had a strong odour when first ran. As per hunter's website its normal - just oil burn off. Smell went away after a day's operation.Finish on surfaces wasn't great. a couple spots had paint rub off out of the box. but unless your staring at the fan up close your not going to see them.
