Much Better Than The First!!!
After reading the first book of the Millennium's Rule I was nervous about reading Angel of Storms but I had nothing to fear. Where the writing in the first book had a tendency to build up to a climax and switch characters before you actually got to see or enjoy what all the build up was for, this book follows through amazingly. It flows perfectly compared to the first book and makes for a much more satisfying reading experience. As far as the actual story goes, you get to know the characters much better in this book because you get to see them handle stressful situations under pressure. The story felt like it actually got to start instead of just world building and the plot was amazing in the way it was set up. If you read the first book and are on the fence about reading the second like I was, I strongly recommend you go for it. This book has definitely earned its right to be on my favorites shelf.

Mindblown
My star rating is in between simply for the fact that I fell in love with the "wrong" character in the first book. I love how Tyen thinks and I loved his world. He was the steadfast one, the thinker. Rielle was the opposite and I despised her in the first book. In the second book Trudi managed to turn the tables as the title of the book states.Jumping worlds and characters can get daunting and I had some trouble keeping up as I didn't read it in one setting. I read slow and a full time job with other activities afterwards didn't help. I love the book and am interested to see how it would pan out for Rielle and Tyen. I love how Trudi makes me think on uses of magic, some of it isn't new but when I read it something just sparks in my imagination like, what if it can be applied to the real world? Is it being done in some religions or cults? Are we limiting our own understanding? The list goes on. I am now rooting for Rielle where I wanted her dead in the first book like a certain character in the book, but with alternative motive. Tyen is still cool, but he needs to create more stuff and/or do something more exciting. I can't believe that my view of characters changed so much in one book. Keep it up Trudi Canavan.

Better than the first book, so if you liked the first book, you will love this one.
Absolutely love all of Trudi's books. The first one of this series seemed to move slower than her other works. You know how with some stories you can see where it is heading, well, with these ones they are so original, I couldn't predict anything. Angel of Storms dives right in and flows beautifully between the two main characters. I like the way her characters' minds work. The ethical struggle presented led me to consider the scenarios in a real way. Oh and it brings honesty to the people when she draws on her own expertise of art and craft. I enjoyed the originality and haven't yet quite worked out if the worlds that are travelled between are parallel universes, different planets or actual places on the same planet. It was a disappointment when the book came to the end and can't wait for the next book and how she deals with the questions risen in this one.

I Lost a few days on this on.
It's not often I want to read every free moment of the day. It took a bit for me to catch the story again but once I did full on hyper focused time lapse binge reading bonanza ... Happened?! Great book I can't wait for the next. Now I need something else to read... Sad face.

Excellent read
Absolutely loved this book, the story is so well formed and has such good direction. I feel Rielle's character shouldn't be so centred around love though, I feel it feeds a strong stereotype of women's minds not being as ambitious as men's minds, but her strength and determination is still admirable and makes her a likeable character. Tyen's thoughts could get a little confusing with the constant contradictions, but his strong resolve makes him a well built character too.

Why bother?
Not much of an improvement over volume 1, Thief’s Magic. Little tension between good and evil, in fact evil is defined subjectively with little to no evidence. The few battles are only distinguished by body count not by actions. The magic equates to electrical power no longer has relevance. Rielle is not threatened, Tyen is not seriously threatened. Since there is no objective good or evil described there is little point to this volume. This is supposedly a trilogy but I am distressed to see a fourth book in the series is now out. If I hadn’t bought all three books I seriously doubt I would have gone further than the first book. There is really nothing to recommend this series based on the first two books.

Moving and full of depth
The characters in this book are deep and rich. There is a true sense of real people here and the story dies not distract from the people being real. This is an easy book to read and it stirred up questions of humanity in its events. Well written and compelling.

Amazing
Once again Trudi Canavan writes a truly fabulous book! You continue following the story of Reille and Tyen in this book, starting with Reille. You get to discover how her new life is after she was forced to leave her home city and settle in a new country as told by the 'Angel' she met in the mountain temple, however, it is not long before the story brings the Angel back into her life once more who offers her the chance to leave her world and travel with him to his home world to become an Artisan. She accepts his offer and goes with him, but fate throws a twist at her and she ends up travelling with different people and is set on a path of discovery about herself and the rest of the worlds out there. We meet Tyen again at a school of magic where he is teaching mechanical magic using the knowledge he gained on his homeworld. He taught this magic in order to complete his knowledge about other types of magic at the school and after five years has completed his training and is trying to discover new ways to get back to his mission of restoring Vella. He is devistated to hear that the school must close as the ruler of worlds, the 'Rean' has once again (after 20 cycles of disappearance) been spotted and the old law forbidding the teaching of travelling between worlds will be enforced. He, like a lot of his colleagues and students, abandon the school and set off into the in-between to warn others and to find a new path, however, it isn't long before he is confronted by the Rean himself and he must make a deal or suffer the consequences of travelling between worlds. He, like Reille is set on a journey that will test his faith and morals and he will be set on a path of discovery of self.I highly recommend this book, but ensure you read Milleniums Rule first as it will make much more sense afterwards as this book continues on from that one.

Tolles Buch
