This product is well made and has a smoother finish than some of the others I have seen, it does carry a hollow sound and it can sound like a croaking frog when running the dowel instrument across the frog's rasp side that runs on the top center of the frog's back. I'm sure to get a lot of use out of it and I'm very happy with the purchase.

No quality control
This would have been so cool for my classroom but when I opened the box the handle was split and there’s dust all over it as if termites got to it.

Sounds just like an old frog +
I gave 3 of these to young children who have parents that like music. They all loved to play their frogs and keep time. The sound is quite life like as well so it had a pleasant effect in the listening.
