I was a little hesitant as I've always heard that Birkenstocks have quite a break in period. I received these about a month before a vacation to St. Lucia. I wore them in the house to get used to them and it didn't take much time at all. These carried me all over that island and with having plantar fasciatis as well as collapsed arches, I was very thankful for these! They provide great support as well as cushion with every step.

I know we all have our “around the house” shoes. Mine are either a memory foam pair of loafers or a ghastly pair of navy blue Crocs clogs. They’re hideous, but it’s like wearing anti-fatigue mats on your feet. I’ve been a loyal Birkenstock customer since I was 14 even when nobody else was still wearing them, and I still have my first pair of Bostons, which are now old enough to vote. I wanted to try these in hopes that they would be a good replacement for the awful house Crocs, and I could run around town without having to change my shoes. I think they will do the job nicely. They are just as comfortable as my Birko-Flor Gizehs, but SO light. They are also very secure feeling. I don’t notice any slipping or sliding, and definitely no fart noises when I walk like other reviewers have mentioned. I haven’t gotten them wet yet, but I would expect any shoe to sound farty if they were wet, so there’s that. This style does run big. I typically wear a women’s size 12 thanks to the four children that bumped me up from a relatively manageable size 11 to a size where I can’t buy any women’s shoes in store ever. A size 42 (women’s 11) fits me perfectly. The metallic anthracite is a nice deep gunmetal color, not quite black but fairly close. I would recommend these sandals and will definitely check out the other EVA styles.

I’m recovering from a lisfranc injury to my foot so my podiatrist recommended Birkenstock’s because I had to have arch support. Prior to that, although I owned Birkenstock’s , I wore Crocs because they are way more comfortable and bend better than Birkenstock’s. This is the best of both worlds! They have the comfort of crocs with the support you always get from Birkenstock’s and half the price! When they get dirty I just wear them in the shower! Just wish they had better selections. They are mostly sold out every time I look. Even got hubby a pair. Beware the white are really white!!!

Having flat feet, wide feet and a high instep makes it hard when trying to find comfortable and helpful shoes so I was very impressed on how comfortable and practical these Gizek EVA Birkenstock sandals were. Summer walking on cobbled streets, up hills and trails with small rivers was easy with them. I highly recommend them! Because they are water proof I was able to leave behind my shower flip flops and have more room in my luggage. Because I bought the black ones I was able to use them with all my summer outfits in Europe. These are a staple, comfortable, practical, flexible in fashion and timeless!About the fit:9.5 = 41 = 26.5cm they are a bit on the wide so if you are normal width, you only need to adjust the bucle strap.So measure your feet !

The shoes came quickly as usual. The shoe is cute but, the look was a bit misleading for me. I can't wear flat shoes any longer and this looked like it had a bit of a lift. Unfortunately, albeit comfortable and long enough (I have big feet), it wears like a regular, flat, flip flop. Absolutely no support or heel lift. I was excited about getting a black sandal / flip flop and I wore it for a few days, hoping my foot would get used to it. It didn't. This will probably collect dust or be given away. It wasn't the best choice for me.
