TIPPMANN Sniper 16" Barrel (For 98 Custom and Custom Pro Markers)

I bought this because I found the accuracy of the standard barrel on the Tippmann 98 didn't quite cut it. Don't get me wrong, the standard barrel works quite well, but I wanted something that hit on target more consistently. After taking it out for a spin, I'm very impressed. Barrel looks great, minimalist (which is nice), and actually balances out the gun nicely. My one gripe is that the logo is upside down once you screw it on all the way. Not sure how they missed that one in QA...I ordered this from here because this barrel goes for $30 more up here in Canada. They don't offer Canadian shipping so I just picked it up at a border KinekPoint along with some other gear I had ordered.

I've been playing paintball very casually for three years on a Tippmann 98 Custom. I was not happy with the accuracy of the stock barrel and finally decided a replacement was in order. I am thrilled with the accuracy of this barrel. I used her for the first time today and was able to consistently put the ball within a couple of inches of where I wanted her - even at 80 feet. I did not notice any great improvement on distance, but the improvement in accuracy and consistency is hard to miss. Coupled with quality, properly sized paintballs, I would recommend this barrel to any scenario or woodsball player in a heartbeat! I am very pleased with the product's build, finish quality, look, feel, and performance.

Love this barrel! I had a Tippmann project salvo with a stock 11" barrel. my max accurate range was about 50 feet using recreational (cheap) paint. with the 16" barrel i can get out to 100 feet using the same paint, and if i arch the shot i can get out to about 200 feet. after about 100 feet though the paint balls will drastically slow down and become very easy to avoid and/or not break. also, this barrel is very light, and the flutes (holes in the last couple inches) on the barrel make it more accurate. dont buy anything longer than a 16" barrel because the gasses used to propel the ball aren't meant to push it through more than 16" inches of barrel, you'll just end up losing velocity and range, not to mention air/co2.

It makes my 98 Custom look more like an actual sniper rifle!. What's really cool is that when you thread in the barrel, the Tippmann logo always faces out and to the left (at least on mine). It's pretty cool. I use cheap paint as I am fairly new to the sport, and I think that it made me a little bit more accurate. The balls fly farther too. The only weird thing that happened was that my ball fps went WAY up. I don't know if the barrel had anything to do with that though. I used the chronograph and it said that I was shooting 423 fps, which made most of the balls break just after exiting the barrel. For the price, I think that it's worth it. I got super saver shipping, so it only cost me about 39 dollars. Which was cheaper than on the Tippmann website.

It's a really nice barrel, a lot longer than stock ones. I personally have not seen much of an improvement besides accuracy over the stock barrel. But I have only shot it a couple of different days. It is kind of intimidating though.

Not the right barrel. The threading is for the x-5 it was clearly marked on the package but it had a 98 sticker placed over it. Couldn't find any information to get this fixed. Extremely disappointed.

Product as described. Arrived within two days as was said. Screws on perfectly to my Tippmann Custom 98 and the accuracy and precision at range were MUCH better than the stock 8" barrel. I definitely had an improved experience while paintballing with it in a timber. Make sure you buy good paintballs to use with it, the better the paintballs, the less likely you are to have them be chopped in your gun, curve wildly, or not feed properly. Don't blame your barrel for your poor choice in paint.

This barrel is insane. I had a stock extened barrel which was already pretty good. I did a ton of research on tippann barrels and this is the one I choose to go with and im so glad I did. It will increase your accuracy and distance so much it will blow your mind. The only barrel better then this one is the straight line barrel. But with this one You'll save about a hundred bucks.So for performence for your dollar this barrel is amazing.
