Perfect neck protection!!!
This does what it was designed to do. Protect your neck while doing crunches. Not sure why the gentleman said the neck piece swivels, but it does not. He must’ve done something wrong putting it together.Worth, every penny very well constructed very well designed high-quality materials

Terrible product... look the other way...
This product is not what I thought it would be as it is very uncomfortable to use. It hurts my neck. Exactly what i purchased it thinking to avoid. My husband hates it too. It is nothing like the gym version. The legs must come up with the back. The back is much too long. Terrible design all around. It is very difficult to put together because there are no instructions except some pics of the stages. There is no explanations whatsoever.... don't buy this. Stick to a $40 floor model...

Expect to pay more for a quality horizontal ab crunch machine
I went to "test drive" the Body Solid GAB100 ab crunch machine because from my experience, horizontal ab crunch benches give the best results. In fact, I wanted to buy this particular machine because it emulated the NordicTrack Ab Works of the 90's. However, I was disappointed to find that there is a design flaw. When flexing the head and trunk forward, the headpiece of the machine is only anchored on one side. It was almost like a "floating" headpiece. You cannot possible get a good crunch when the headpiece is swiveling from side to side unlike other horizontal ab machines where the headpiece is anchored on BOTH sides. You need that bilateral anchoring when you engage in the abdominal crunched position.Secondly, the GAB100 doesn't allow you to disconnect the head and foot piece when doing the crunches. This means that you have to do the forward and reverse crunch AT THE SAME TIME. The NordicTrack Ab Works allows you to train the upper abs (via forward crunch) and the lower abs (via reverse crunch) separately.Another similar machine to the NordicTrack Ab Works that I found allows you to do the upper and lower abs separately is The Abs Bench X2 which is the latest in abdominal machine technology.Unfortunately, I will have to give the Body Solid GAB100 a 2-star rating due to the design flaw and its inability to train the upper and lower abs independently.Stick with the antiquated NordicTrack Ab Works or the more recent The Abs Bench X2.

INSTRUCTIONS
The directions that come with this model are incredibly difficult to put together. Extremely vague and just pictures of 20 steps all jammed into one picture. Just having to identify which is which because nothing is labeled and having to match the bolts and parts by just guessing. Very frustrating and took the better part of 3 hours and that’s because I had an iPad with extra pictures handy so I wouldn’t have to be able to look at the front and back of each page. I never post reviews but this was awful. I’ve put a bowflex together with 3 times the number of parts and it was no where near as bad as this. At least separate the bolts instead of throwing 8 different kinds in one bag. The end product IFFFF you get that far works as intended. People who complain about their necks are either using it wrong or are just complaining about working out. I’m just complaining about the instructions.

I’m super happy, the assembly man came on time and ...
Just got my Horizontal Ab Crunch Bench assembled. Was delivered last week and I paid for assembly through Amazon. I’m super happy, the assembly man came on time and even though the directions are terrible, he was a genius and figured it out within an hour and was out the door. I printed the directions online for him: http://adeasel-bodysolid-com.s3.amazonaws.com/dowloads/files/GAB100_072514.pdf?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAIODNLS2JNPZMYWJA&Expires=1524165121&Signature=w1Ab6WDN1QN4T5l5Ie%2FuDwomJME%3DHe didn’t even use them, he said they were too confusing and he was able to figure it out on his own. I highly recommend paying for the assembly service through Amazon. I’m super excited to be able to do this from home and not have to run to the gym some days.
