Easy install

This repair kit works great. The supplied instructions are good. Also, there is a great video on Simply Speakers website showing exactly how to clean off the old deteriorated speaker edge foam and install the new edge foam with the supplied special glue. This kit repaired a 5" sub-woofer speaker that is smaller than the ones on the instructional video. I glued the surround edge foam to the speaker cone first then 1 hour later I glued the edge foam to the metal frame making sure the cone inner core was centered as shown in the video. The repaired speaker sounds like brand new. This speaker is in a computer speaker system in a Boston Acoustics sub-woofer. It has impressive bass power for such a small speaker. It is in an enclosure with a large tuned port. With the volume turned up on a lot of bass it will blow out a candle held about 6 inches from in front of the port. Considering this is a 5 inch speaker this is amazing. It is clear the new surround material is doing its job correctly and not attenuation speaker cone movement - it simply sound like it did when it was new.

Speaker is like new again, took less than half an hour to do both speakers.

I didn't clean the old rubber off the best but these new ones still installed easily on my speakers and sounds great, no more rattling.

Arrived quickly, fit perfectly, installed without too much trauma (watch the online installation videos first!), and had my speakers sounding like new over night. A little on the expensive side, but work exactly as claimed.

clear instructions, arrived quickly, fixed my BA 2.1 computer speaker subwoofer as expected. Pricey, but appears to be quality foam so I hope to get another ten plus years out of this speaker.
