A port for one of Rare's greatest
Conker Live and Reloaded is a "3D" Platforming, shooter and comedy game for the Xbox. The game is a port from the Nintendo 64 game "Conker's Bad Fur Day" which was released back in 2000 this game was released about 4 years later for better graphics and an online mode let's see what I think of this game. The story is your a squirrel named Conker, you ditched your girlfriend to go get drunk with friends this causes her to get angry at you and she waits for Conker to apologize for her to chew him out. Meanwhile Conker gets hungover and gets lost in a place completely unfamiliar to him he tries to get home and along the way get rich by helping people out with their constant wining. Throughout the game you get a new combat system from the N64 for game making it more convienient and turning it more into a shooter. It also makes it more convienient to use your frying pan. This game is more combat-styled than the original N64 game is for instance a lot of random enemies were added to areas where they weren't in to "Add difficulty" unfortunately Rare did the opposite of this by removing the more difficult stuff from the original game. This game eventually after about 3-4 hours of platforming turns into more of a shooter/Resident Evil game when you get teleported to a haunted mansion with Conker Grandfather. Conker also ends up accidentaly signing himself in the military and gets himself into a lot of near death situations. This game is well HILARIOUS! You will see a lot of references from old movies (Of course I don't recognize a lot of them but at least I was smart enough to recognize "The Terminator"). Conker later has a dream of becoming a millionare after he gets his money back from being stolen. So it ends up instead of going home he seems to make excuses to stay in the area. This game also features multiplayer and an online mode unfortunately I don't think the online mode can be played on an Xbox 360 as it does not work on mine. This game is a fun game but I don't like it as much as the Nintendo 64 game just for the fact I wanted this game to be a little more difficult and they cencorsed even more curses than they did in the original killing the humor just A LITTLE. This game is great though and if you don't want to buy the Rare (No pun intended :P) Nintendo 64 cartridge of the game then this is definately a suitable replacement.Score:Gameplay: AStory: AGraphics: AHilarity: A-Controls: B+The game can have some slight lag at parts which isn't very impressive.Overal: I rate this game a score of 8.5/10 and I think it DEFINATELY deserves a buy if you're looking a good laugh.

An outstanding remake of a great game.
Back in the late 90's, when I first heard the tail... err, tale of a red squirrel (who looks orange to me) that would be caught into such mischief, I figured another kids game. One that I'd probably end up getting because Rare made it. Then I saw the first set of trailers for it on IGN. Boy, was I shocked. Blood galore. Violence at every corner. It was actually funny. Singing poop. And language that would make a sailor smile. This wasn't another Rare kid's game. I don't remember how, but I ended up with several copies of the game. Afterwards, I sold some of the "still packaged" games to Special FX (Waco's finest game trading place) who gave me enough to buy a ton of new games. I beat it over a friend's house and was almost tear jerked because I wanted to find out what happened to a host of the characters. You'd understand if you played it.Conker is now redone. Reloaded as they say. It has much better graphics. For instance, Conker actually has fur instead of a decent polygonal orange... red... surface. The sound quality is a ton better. Best of all, the game host a few new surprises from the original. The game is just hysterical, even after all these years. The Matrix scene is awesome. The Gladiator rips are to die for. The Saving Private Ryan parody is just the apple in the pie. It's all a riot for not only the player, but friends watching. The graphics and sounds in this remake have been so well redone, it's literally like playing a new game. The game has a host of new options too, some which I wish all games had. For one, there's a profanity filter. I prefer to play my games with one on because I just don't like to hear certain words flowing out of anythings mouth. Although, even with the profanity unlocked, you won't hear any F-bombs or anything. Another new feature I liked was the multiplayer. Then again, I also hated it. The original multiplayer was more of a mini-game style. It really didn't last too long, but it was fun sometimes. The best modes being the military modes and the heist, as well as raptors vs. cavemen. However, the new multiplayer is a lot more lasting, even to include stats and a nice ranking system. I just wish they could have kept the originals in there for kicks.Overall, Conker will have you splitting your sides, as well as wishing the game would never end. It's a perfect video game for those fans of platformers, comedies, or just war.

The Definitive Edition of a a little game starring your favourite Filthy-Mouthed Squirrel that deserves your attention
I had always heard very vague descriptions regarding how faithful Conker: Live & Reloaded was to the original Conker's Bad Fur Day and I would like to throw my two cents in the hat. Let's break tit down by categories.Graphics: Absolutely stunning! Top marks in this regard, this could've easily been a Xbox 360 launch title.Story: If you're at all familiar with Conker's Bad Fur Day, everything is present and accounted for story-wise... pretty much beat for beat.Sound: Some may find aspects of this aspect to be lacking, considering all recorded lines are beat for beat the same as the original but with the revised music and new Club Rock Solid extended remix, I'd say it's a good balance of new and old.Gameplay: Again, if you've played Bad Fur Day, you've played Live & Reloaded... well, for the most part. There have been some control changes to account for dual analog configurations. Overall, changes made have been made for the better.Overall, I found myself enjoying Conker: Live & Reloaded about as much as Bad Fur Day, which seems to be more than most can say.If you're a fan of this filthy-mouthed squirrel's escapades and are looking to revisit his grime covered adventure all over again or even for the first time, I highly recommend tracking down a copy of Live & Reloaded.

Stick with Nintendo 64 version if you can
The changes they made are ok, it's a little censored and the graphics are outstanding. Conker however is too fuzzy animation wise. Basic story is still there, but stick with the N64 version you'll get more than your monies worth of laughs.

alright
it arrived pretty late even though I paid lots on shipping. the game works but I think I have to clean the disc. skips like a scratched record even though there is no scuff marks or scratches. not my system that is for sure. and the sound gets lost and won't come back for awhile. and freezes here and there. but love the game and missed it.
