This is not crochet lace, regardless of what modern fashion would have you call it. It is bobbin lace, which can be made by machine, and which can look coarse or very fine depending on the threads you use. This is 100% cotton, and takes dyes beautifully.

Pretty, but…
These came quickly. They are pretty, but they are not soft. I’m considering (probably foolishly) putting them in a sealed up pillow case and washing them with fabric softener. We’ll see. They are pretty and very inexpensive though. I would buy them again.
