Don Sullivan's Secrets to Training the Perfect Dog System with DVD Set and Command Collar, Size Large

We had purchased this product out of curiosity. My dad has trained all our dogs throughout my life (3) to be off leash with no outside assistance and when I had gotten my puppy (Australian Shep./Blue Heeler mix) he was teaching me how to do the same thing he had done previously. I was not receiving the same results that he had received and we didn't know why. We soon figured out it was because my puppy was not seeing me as the "alpha" so he would only listen when he thought it was convenient. He listened to certain things on a regular basis such as sit and not bolting out the door, but he wouldn't stop pulling on the leash, bolting to play with other dogs, etc. We received this 1 day after ordering and watched the video right away! The techniques Don uses were basically the same as my dad had used, except my dad was able to exert dominance on the other dogs, something I wasn't able to do (I wasn't stern enough and didn't have the deep voice). My puppy, Tryg, started listening to me almost immediate. We took him to a nearby park and within the first ten minutes he had perfected the down command and wasn't pulling on the leash! I was amazed. I didn't know what to think as I am always apprehensive about "As Seen on TV" infomercials, but this is a definite MUST HAVE. I feel horrible for those dogs who are not able to be off leash because their owner doesn't take the time to teach them. It has only been a week and we are definitely still working with him, but I have to say, for only having been using this system for a week I have seen incredible improvement. Just today I told him "sit", "stay" and went half way across the park and he stayed, with other dogs and people around, he stayed. I called him and he came running over, passing the other distractions. This was/is a dramatic improvement. Each time we go to the park we start on the training line, but within the first few minutes, I drop it because he's watching my every move and staying with me. We run, jog, walk, play, etc and he doesn't even try to leave me. I can tell he's much happier that I'm not constantly yelling at him to come back because he doesn't leave! I highly recommend Don's system! If you don't have time to train your dog, not matter how big or small, you shouldn't have gotten a dog. Training is a very important part of owning a safe and happy animal and Don's system gives you the tools to accomplish this. GET DON'S SYSTEM!!

I purchased this product because our dog,(a recently rescued 3 year old pit bull) pulled, attacks vacuums, lawnmowers, shovels etc. This charging activity gives him great fun but is not fun for me. I needed a good method to teach him. I had tried another product but it was not having the desired result. Last night there were fireworks and I put the collar on him and corrected his panic behavior, he layed down then I could help him with his stress. Today I vacuumed. He started to go after the vacuum but I corrected him and told him to stay. He did not attack again. He moved from his spot but I took him back to his spot and corrected him. He did not move again. I even challenged him by pushing the vacuum towards him he started to back up versus attack but quickly layed back down and stayed put. I rewarded him by taking him for a walk. He did not pull on the leash. He stayed by my side. He only needed small corrections for trying to take a shiffing break causing the leash to go tight. I feel I can now take him for a walk and not injure myself or him. My daughter rescued this dog in February, he has been living in my home since April. He is adjusting to new owners, new home and new rules. He is an amazingly well behaved dog in nearly every situation. Now he is getting really good in the areas he needed help. He is a very strong and strong willed dog and this collar has worked wonders in only a couple of days. It is not a heavy harsh punishing device. I compare it to using a rope halter versus a leather halter on a horse, it has a little bite to help the dog understand his behavior needs to change. I will continue to use the collar. I expect great results.The only thing I wish had been done differently was in the videos trained dogs are used. He should have used untrained dogs. I have not watched the whole video so maybe further into the videos untrainded dogs are used. For the benefit of new users, only untrained dogs should be used so we would have a better idea of what to expect. But I am used to watching Clinton Anderson's videos. He never uses trained horses to show his Method.

I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE DON SULLIVAN HERE. MY DOG, A 7MO. CHOCOLATE LAB, IS VERY HEAD STRONG. ALTHOUGH THE TAPE AND COLAR ARE GREAT, I'M STILL HAVING THE SAME ISSUES. I WILL HAVE TO GO OVER THE VIDEO AGAIN AS IT DOES LOOK GREAT. I HAD PROBLEM WITH THE COLAR- DOG GOT A HOLD OF IT AND CHEWED IT. I NOTIFIED AMAZON AND THEY GOT INTOUCH WITH THE PEOPLE THAT I BOUGHT IT FROM. A NEW COLAR WAS SENT OUT, NO CHARGE, WHICH WAS GREAT; I WAITED FOR OVER 10 DAYS TO RECEIVE IT. I SURE HOPE I CAN AT LEAST KNOCK OUT HER PROBLEMS.

Great DVD for training hard to train dogs. It is a no-nonsense piece of work that needs to be used as a training manual. My dog was found as a rescue and was not properly socialized. But when applying this , it took no time to get him to stop jumping up, acting aggressively and listening to commands. It came with the DVD , collar and leash. All are essential to the training. And it emphasizes consistency in the training . So the collar must be used all the time he has achieved total mastery. Done consistently, the dog will not use the leash as he will obey and stay with you without the leash. Must cheaper than the infomercial price ! I RECOMMEND TO ANY DOG OWNER OR TRAINER !
