Ips Chips is a Great Tasting Snack!
Ips Chips comes in several flavors that include barbeque, white cheddar, and sea salt & black pepper. For this review, I will be writing about all three since with a product such as this taste is important. I will note that these are not really chips but more of like a baked puff in the shape of a chip.Barbeque: They do not really smell like much, kind of like flour with a slight BBQ smell. When you taste them you are hit with very strong BBQ taste. It was kind of a cross between mesquite and a honey BBQ. It was definitely more mesquite and there was some spice to it. It was quite good.Sea Salt & Black Pepper: These have a very strong peppery smell, which I personally liked. When you first taste these you get a blast of pepper that is followed by an almost buttery taste. They were not overly salty and had a good balance of flavors. This one was quite good as well.White Cheddar: These have a very distinct cheese smell. They smell like the packets of the powdered cheese in macaroni and cheese boxes. When you first taste these you get a very cheesy taste that is followed a milky taste. It kind of tastes like dried macaroni and cheese. I felt that this flavor was just okay.Overall, these were a nice snack and I definitely recommend giving them a try.

New Found Love
I purchased these for my dirty keto diet. I found these to be quite good. So many items I have purchased always left an after taste. I found these to be crunchy and very good. I have never been a chip person but I look forward to these to accompany my lunch.

Changed again, but still handy snack on the go
Well, they've changed Ips chips again. The latest batch has another new package design (which alerted me). The original had the story of its origin in the kitchen frying pan--the founder's (Sean Olson) kids loved the edges of fried egg white that cooked crisp, so Ips were developed mostly out of egg white and the package called them egg white chips, if I remember right--that's what originally caught my eye when I first saw them a couple of years ago. The version in the purplish package mentioned the egg whites only on the back: "premium protein from whey and egg white," and was labeled "puffed corn & protein snack." It did contain the blurb about how "the idea...was first hatched," but now the egg content was less than the whey, oil, and cheddar cheese. I preferred the old Ips' lighter texture and base flavor, though the cheddar flavor was stronger on the newer chips. This new incarnation has no egg at all and therefore no origins story. Now they'r just subtitled "the protein snack." The only mention of egg is a "protein comparison" showing one oz of Ips Chips equals one egg. They feature "whole grain corn flower and tout their lack of gluten or GMO ingredients (not anything new). They aren't as cheesy and they're lighter textured; I like the latter, but not as much the former, but i still like them well enough for their primary purpose--a convenient protein snack that isn't too high in calories or too messy and that I can keep in the car. Everything else except the lack of egg--and the packaging-- is the same.

One of our favorite family snacks
My young children and I love these chips. I love that the portion size is huge, really, for the amount of calories. Definitely enough to satisfy your snack craving. I like the balance of protein/carbs/fat and the fact that there a minimal ingredients. I love the kick of the salt and pepper flavor, a nice complement to the hint of egg that you can taste in this version. I also recommend the cinnamon flavor for a slightly sweeter snack. I like that both of those versions are wheat, soy, and diary free. That is a hard combination to find in tasty snacks.

Love these chips!
These are a little pricey for chips, but I am having a difficult time fitting in all my protein every day. I also need something crunchy once in a while and these are a better alternative to 'regular' chips. I was hesitant to buy, since you cannot just try a single bag, and I didn't want to waste my money and have 5 leftover bags that I wouldn't eat. BUT that didn't happen. I'm really glad I tried them! I've been ordering them ever since.
