Atlantis Lives On!
I've got to hand it to these ladies because they are doing really well with the Legacy series thus far. I recommend it for any SGA fan. The authors have spent a lot of time making sure that their stories stay within the Stargate Atlantis universe that fans know and love. Stuff from prior seasons is referenced all the time and used to explain why a character reacts or thinks a certain way. These bits are also cool because the reader gets to hear what individual characters might have thought about a situation although they didn't actually get to say the lines in the tv episode. This book continues the Rodney abducted/Queen Death rules story line post-season 5. Love or hate the relationship, there isn't a whole lot of Jeyla in Allegiance. Everyone gets good scene time just like in the tv episodes. Our favorite characters are themselves. Sheppard is Sheppard, McKay is a wraith but he's still the McKay everyone knows and loves, Ronon has a bit more character development and discovery going on in this one, but he's still "the muscle." We just get to look inside the muscle's head and see how smart he really is. The books are all approved by MGM before publishing. Every line is reviewed meticulously to make sure that it stays true to cannon. And the writer's are actually all working together on the series. They meet and discuss plot details and help each other brainstorm. From what I read on Graham's website, Book Four: The Avengers is already finished and awaiting final approval for a release date. The rest of the Legacy series is outlined and mostly written, except the final book, The Inheritors. So far the results have been...great! If you haven't started this series but you are a SGA fan, give these books a chance! They are a great fix for anyone who misses the television show. I'm loving Legacy and can't wait to see how it ends. Hopefully, when Jo and Melissa are done here, they will continue writing more Stargate Atlantis.

the books are great.. I love the humor
These books are so exciting I have already read them twice. Oh, I wish they would do some movies too, but until then, the books are great..I love the humor, the excitement, and most especially the interaction of the cast.

Another great chapter!
Bringing the "Stargate Atlantis: Legacy" series to its midpoint, "Allegiance" focuses on the consequences of failing to rescue Rodney McKay from the clutches of the Wraith. Since Rodney has been altered into a Wraith himself, thanks to a spin on the same retrovirus that turned one of the Wraith into "Michael" during the television series, this is a very bad thing for the Lanteans.Much like the first two books, there is a liberal mixture of plot advancement and character beats, though this volume falls a bit more towards the character-centric side of the equation. This is actually a good thing. The strength of the post-finale novel series has been the excellent characterization. All of the familiar characters sound and act the way they should. Considering that I haven't watched the show since it went off the air a few years ago, the fact that the writers could make the characters feel so alive again is a testimony to their talent. The plot moves forward in a semi-predictable fashion. McKay's knowledge of Atlantis is used against them, and the Lanteans must scramble to find a way to counter Mckay's inevitable next move. This involves an unexpected but welcome return to one character's homeworld, where other familiar faces are encountered. Meanwhile, Todd/Guide continues with his own machinations in the Wraith hierarchy, which ties into Rodney's character arc rather nicely.I found the book to be a relatively quick read, which is also a good sign. I seldom found myself bogged down in the story, waiting for something interesting to happen. The authors took some pains to ensure that readers could quickly get back up to speed on the various plot and character details from the television series and earlier volumes, and that is always a plus. Considering how many references to older characters there are, such as prominent members of the Genii, it's a vital inclusion. If there is one major problem with the "Legacy" series, it is how criminally under-promoted it is. Fandemonium seems to give little or no information on when the next volumes will be released, and if I hadn't intentionally gone looking for information on this book, I never would have known it had already hit the shelves. It's also disheartening to discover, on a regular basis, how many "Stargate Atlantis" fans were completely unaware that the books exist. Given the quality of the material, and the enduring sense of loss within the fandom since the series' cancellation, these books are more than worth the time spent devouring them.

Could not put it down
I loved this book and I wish it had been longer. There were enough plots to keep the reader interested and many characters supporting them. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series. I was surprised about the amount of story devoted to Sateda, but I have to admit that it fit well within the story. If any of the authors are reading this review then I have to beg them for more books and less wait in between them. I waited months for this one to come out and now I have to wait many more months for the next one. In summary: I recommend it!

Love this entire series
I loved this series from book one through book 7. I couldn't put it down and just kept reading one right after the other. Read them all in a little over a week and then was sorry it was the end. Now am looking for more books by the same authors.

Once again a thrilling story.
This is another excellent addition to the series. I feel that this book starts to take more creative freedom with the established lore but not to the detriment of the original series. I particularly like the story building and background that the Wraith undergo in this book.My only complaint it that the breaks from one group of characters to another are not marked in any way so it can feel alittle jerky at those parts. This was also present in the first two books also, so by the time you get to this edition in the series one becomes somewhat accustomed to it.
