Here goes. After a bunch of research into electric vs. battery-powered garlands, foliage quality, ability to use outdoors, optimal lengths, light options, timer options, etc., I bought these garlands to drape across approximately 75 feet of fencing in front of my house, in addition to about 30 feet along the edge of the front porch of the house. While most arrived in a condition that appeared new - i.e., neatly folded inside the box with instruction sheet and spare lights in a plastic bag - as other reviewers have mentioned, several of them arrived in a condition that seemed used - i.e. stuffed back into a taped-up box with no instruction sheet or spare lights included. Also, each garland takes some time to unfold and bend and manipulate the foliage, lights, berries and pine cones so that they look good. That said, all of the garlands worked properly - at first. More on that later. I'll start with the positives. The garlands look quite nice, with a pretty combination of darker and lighter pine branches, fairly large pine cones and clusters of nice red berries. They are not extremely dense, thick or heavy (like much more expensive Balsam Hill garlands I have for my indoor fireplace mantels) - they are about 8 inches across at most - but this was a good thing for my particular use. Each garland takes three D batteries in a long, narrow green plastic case at the end of each. The battery cases have a thin rubber gasket for weather protection and three clamps to keep the door closed - which can fall off, annoyingly, but are easy enough to clip back on if they do. Also a plus, the LED lights on these garlands are plentiful and very nice - nine different settings including steady white, steady multicolor, various blinking options (yuck, not for me) and a really interesting option in which the lights fade back and forth slowly from white to multicolor. The timer feature is also extremely convenient - just turn them on late afternoon and they'll stay on for six hours, then off for 18, then back on for six, etc.Now for the negatives. First, oddly enough, the pine cones on all of the garlands actually closed up tight after being outside for a few days. Still looked ok, but different than they did with large open pine cones. Far more problematic was that after anywhere from 4 to 10 days, some of the garlands stopped operating properly. The lights died completely on two (which was not a battery issue, having both tested and replaced the batteries); on two others, either the white light options stopped working or the multicolor light options stopped working - but the other would continue to work. Finally, on two, the lights became dim and flickered on all settings (again, not a battery issue). Overall, 6 of the 16 garlands I purchased malfunctioned in some manner - but the other 10 looked great and worked fine with daily outdoor use, in weather conditions including steady rain, light snow and winter cold, for about five weeks. The pic I included shows the steady multicolor setting; I used white zipties to fasten them to the white fence and a staple gun to fasten them to the house, both of which worked well. As a final note, I got lots of compliments on these garlands from neighbors and passers-by - when working properly, they look very natural, festive and beautiful. Good luck and happy holidays!

I love this garland. It's not cheap looking, garland is full, and just enough pine cones on it. It's exactly what I was looking for. I'm making a huge wreath for photo shoots. I secured the garland with green cable ties to a 40" metal hoop. The only problem is the battery holder is at least a foot long and holds three D batteries and it's hard to figure out how to hide it. It's, also, way too heavy!! I've decided not to send this back and will take the lights off and add my own fairy lights with a battery holder that is very small (2" x 3") and easy to hide. That is why I gave it a 4 star. A little pricey to have to take all the different color lights off but I need it soon for Christmas photos. Yes, people take Christmas photos very early!!!!

This Garland is excellent! It has some plastic life like pieces of pine that are positionable, real pine cones, and just the way that it was pieced together looks very lifelike. It's not just a metal wire with plastic, 2 inch green fringe, like most garlands are. I added some pink ornaments to it with hot glue, to match my tree. The lights aren't super bright, but do the job and the timer works great. I did get one extra string of lights that I put on, so that I can have it on for more than 6 hours. You can see the extra light string in the 3rd pic showing it from more of the side. I thought it looked beautiful!

I thought the quality of these were great. I’ve had them outside all Christmas season and they held up. The only downside was that the title says they are plug in but the description says they are battery operated. I ordered before I realized but overall love them!

Good quality aside from that. But due to it being for a fireplace its too hard to hide the plastic battery storage piece

Name of product says plug in, it takes 4 d batteries and there is no plug. It will work though.

Absolutely love this garland. Bought two strands to go down our stairs. Rated this 4 bc one strand was absolutely perfect. But second strand only a 3 because most of the pine ones were crushed. Otherwise both 5 stars. Love the lights run on batteries so I don’t have to worry about cords.

Just wanted to start getting in the holiday spirit so I bought this. It is very plush and beautiful only reason it’s getting a 4 star is the battery pack is huge! Luckily I don’t see it to have lights so I just cut it off.
