This brother works very well and I am very happy with it.
I love my morning capuccino and like a lot of thick froth on it. I purchased this frother as a replacement for a BonJour frother I have had and used for about 10 years. The plastic on the bottom of the "plunger" finally broke, but it still functioned until the screen tore. Then I taped it on and continued to use it for a couple of weeks. I then (foolishly!) purchased another brand and it is far inferior to the BonJour. The "plunger" does not fit tightly enough in the glass carafe and the milk does not froth well, either hot or cold. Also it is extremely light-weight as opposed to the BonJour. I ordered another BonJour which came today and they have even made some improvements in it since I bought my old one, having replaced the plastic part on the bottom of the plunger (which is what broke on my old one) with metal - a VERY good idea! In addition, the "coaster" is now made of silicone and the carafe sits tightly in it, as opposed to the old model where the coaster was plastic and easy to tip over. Also, the frother is heavier weight and the "plunger" fits tightly, therefore frothing the milk very, very well. I would not buy any other manual frother but BonJour in the future. However, given that my old one lasted so long, the new one will probably outlive me! Great product, excellent price, and as usual, Amazon's service is the best on the internet by far. Whatever I am shopping for, I always go to Amazon first to look, as the variety is amazing and the prices better than anywhere else.

Froths GREAT!
This product feels solid and it works as I would have hoped, which is to say it froths my milk =). I do not heat the milk directly in the glass beaker just because I am scared it would crack from the heat, maybe it wouldn't but why risk it when I can just pour the heated milk into it and not worry. It really is amazing how well it works. I am not a huge coffee consoler but I drink a cup usually on rough mornings before class or if I have a big test. I always Liked lattes but never wanted to spend money on an expensive steamer. Then I came across a youtube video of someone using a french press to make froth and I was hooked. If you buy this I would say it would suit your needs depending on how particular you are about your coffee. If you are pretty easy going and don't drink a pot a day this should work great for you =)

Good froth, but needs a handle and an inner lip
I bought this to replace a Bodum frother that my cat broke :(The BonJour frother makes good foam, but it has two serious usability issues:1) No handle. Without a handle, you must either grip the top or the glass during any vigorous frothing, and both parts get pretty hot. They're not scalding hot, but it's a bit uncomfortable. You also need to hold the glass while pouring, which presents the same problem.2) No inner lip on the lid. My Bodum unit had in inner lip that covered the spout, except when it was rotated to the correct position. This allowed for vigorous frothing without any mess. With the BonJour frother, foam slops out on every stroke unless I'm very, very careful. On the plus side:a) It does the job. The foam is good.b) The unit is very attractive, which means I can leave it on the countertop without my SO complaining about it being left out.c) The rubber base is a nice touch. With my Bodum frother I needed to put a cloth or oven mitt underneath when frothing. So it's not bad enough to send back or replace, but if my cat were to break this one, I'd replace it with a different product.

bad design, top heavy fell over and broke, but did make nice throthy milk for the short period I earned it
I knew right from the beginning that I would not own this product long before the glass would break. The plunger was very top heavy and tended to tip the whole thing over whfich happened within a couple of weeks and broke. I definitely would not recommend this product, its narrowness and top heavyness is a very poor design. Pros: it did make nice throthy milk

Great froth but very thin glass (updated review)
Before I go into the negatives I want to say when used as directed it produces great froth. You can even put it in the microwave. On to what I didn't like about it. t was surprised at how thin the glass was. It might be sturdier than it looks and feels, but I don't want to find out so I'm treating it very gently. And the lid doesn't seal however it's not a problem when making froth. It just sits in the top and doesn't feel like it's a good fit and it is metal against glass. I may order an extra carafe to have as a spare, but if I can find one that has the same interior dimensions but is of sturdier glass I'll buy one of those.Overall for a first milk frother I am pleased at the froth it produces. Make sure you lift the plunger out of the milk before pushing it back in and 20 strokes later it produces nice creamy froth even with whole milk. With this and a 3 cup Bialati moka pot I also bought on Amazon I can make my own decent lattes without having to spend $600 for one of those fancy home espresso machines.Update October 17, 2017: I just broke my second carafe. I did exactly what I feared. My first carafe lasted about two and a half months. In a careless moment I knocked it over and the top half shattered. It took me a while to clean up the glass carefully so I wouldn't cut myself. I ordered two replacement carafes BonJour Coffee Caffe Froth Replacement Frother Glass Carafe, 15-Ounce because I liked how well it frothed. I was extra careful with my second replacement. And it lasted three years until I tipped this one over in a slightly less careless moment. It cracked at the top and only a small piece of glass chipped off this time, but still it was ruined.I originally gave it three stars. Had the glass been sturdier, I would have given it a 4 or possibly even a five star review as it is a great frother. And I've been very pleased with it's ability to do that. I have lowered it to two stars now because of the fragility of the glass. It has now become literally a deal breaker for me. I am now looking at a sturdier frother, maybe this one La Cafetiere Bialetti Tuttocrema Frothing Jug, Teflon Non Stick Surface and Double Filter For Extra Frothy Milk .It was good while it lasted. I still have one more glass carafe replacement, so if you do buy one of these be sure to by a replacement glass carafe and be extra careful with it. It does microwave well (but be sure not to put the frother part, only the microwave. Another reason I downgraded it is that it's not easy to get sparkling clean. The milk builds up a film over time. When I do clean it up it does look good as new, but it takes a little extra elbow grease.
