This is a great every day carry knife. The length makes it pocket/waist band friendly, though if it were a bit thinner it would be a perfect pocket fit. If you're looking for something you'd forget was there, this might not be perfect, as I said it's just a bit chunky. The blade itself is beautiful, nice curve for clean cutting, and a semi tango point making it good for piercing. I use my knives for cutting boxes etc, and this blade cuts great. Japanese steel in a clean/strong package for 70 bucks, what more you want??

This is a good little knife overall. The blade is in perfect razor sharp condition. The blade did seem a bit loose and had some play and wobble. Tightening it did help, but it also effected the quick opening capability of the knife. I had to play with the adjustment until I could find a happy medium to mimimize the blade wobble but still have the quick opening capability. I think I found it! It is not the exceptional quality I expected after falling in love with the Spec-Elite I, however, it is still a good quality knife with the exceptional VG-10 blade steel. Also, it has the discreet carry clip which in another bonus. You only see the top of the clip and none of the knife protrudes outside the pocket. I love this about a lot of the SOG knives I own.In my experience and opinion, it seems that some manufacturers try to miniaturize their successful knives and it seems that when you make them smaller, some of the qualities don't translate from the larger knives. This is for obvious reasons since you don't have the same heft, mass, and handle/blade length. This may be the case with this Spec-Elite Mini. I would feel much more comfortable in a do or die situation with the Spec-Elite I, though, for discreet carry, weight, mass, and every day carry factors, the Mini would suffice since the larger knife would be too obvious.

Great Knife for the size. Sharp knife. Big knife in a small body. I would recommend this knife to my best friend.You can't go wrong with this knife.

I was looking for a knife for a left handed person that was light weight for backpacking. Made really well. This has been my favorite knife so far for what I wanted. I have owned many good knives like Benchmade. I really like this knife for backpacking and a daily user.

I have the full-size one and my wife liked the knife but thought it was too big so I bought her the mini.... SHE LOVES ITEasy to open and close.Very sharpvery concealableVG-10 steel is really good steel and holds an edge well.

It was what I wanted in most respects, a very easy opening, short but wide bladed quality knife. Most short blades do not open easy. I can open this with the flip of my wrist. It has a sold lock also, so is very safe. Not big enough to draw unwanted attention when using in public. The ONLY drawback is, even though I knew the dimensions, it is still just a little smaller than I would have liked. Maybe 1/2" more length would have been ideal. Overall, great for EDC. Good service.

Strong and small with a great opening system and quality blade steel.I only wish SOG would stop adding the useless recurve to their blades.This model is discontinued.
