Q: What is the weight limit of this grab bar?

I believe the information with the bar talks about 300lbs. We have used the wingets system for mounting and they have a 600 lb limit.

Q: What are the dimensions of the rectanglular support plate?

11.5 inches high by 5.75 inches wide. Horizontally, the center of the screw holes are 4.75 inches apart. This is a problem unless you have extra studs in your bathroom walls. I got lucky because of the extra window and plumbing support studs near my mounting location

Q: Would this flip up grab bar work for assistance in getting into and out of bed?

This grab bar comes equipped with a built-in paper holder. Installation requires wood backing/studs, and has a 300 lb. weight pull capacity.
